TA9 are enjoying their new class! Once again we have had an extremely busy, eventful and positive term at Peg’s Creek. Please take the opportunity to reflect on some of our achievements and celebrations for the term. Most recently, we managed to get our beautiful school back in order after Cyclone Veronica. We survived the chaos of interm swimming lessons, our student leaders recently attended their annual leadership day at the Leisureplex, we celebrated the National Day of Anti-Bullying with a successful whole school read and Buddy Class activities, took time to acknowledge Harmony Day by wearing orange, we held another extremely successful Easter raffle raising funds for the Year 6 camp to Broome next term. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my amazing staff. I know many parents have taken up an invitation to meet with their children's teachers during the term. From these meetings you will be aware of the complexities each class has, the time the teachers take to plan their curriculum to engage, enthuse and progress each individual in their care. Please continue to communicate closely with your child's teacher, either in person or via emails and telephone calls. Our support staff also work tirelessly behind the scenes ensuring that staff, students and parents are always supported to the best of our abilities at Peg’s Creek Primary. TA9 are enjoying their new class!

Once again we have had an extremely busy, eventful

and positive term at Peg’s Creek.

Please take the opportunity to reflect on some of our

achievements and celebrations for the term. Most

recently, we managed to get our beautiful school back

in order after Cyclone Veronica. We survived the

chaos of interm swimming lessons, our student

leaders recently attended their annual leadership day

at the Leisureplex, we celebrated the National Day of

Anti-Bullying with a successful whole school read and

Buddy Class activities, took time to acknowledge

Harmony Day by wearing orange, we held another

extremely successful Easter raffle raising funds for

the Year 6 camp to Broome next term.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my

amazing staff. I know many parents have taken up an

invitation to meet with their children's teachers during

the term. From these meetings you will be aware of

the complexities each class has, the time the teachers

take to plan their curriculum to engage, enthuse and

progress each individual in their care. Please continue

to communicate closely with your child's teacher,

either in person or via emails and telephone calls. Our

support staff also work tirelessly behind the scenes

ensuring that staff, students and parents are always

supported to the best of our abilities at Peg’s Creek

SCHOOL RESTRUCTURE

We successfully transitioned students into their new

classrooms following the Cyclone closure.

Dee McFillan has had a positive start to teaching the

Year 2/3 class in TA9.

There have been minmal changes as a result of the

restructure. Spelling and Letters and Sounds continue

for year 1 to 6 classes at the beginning each day at

8.30am.

EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AND LEARNING LEADERSHIP

CYCLONE VERONICA CLEAN UP

I would like to thank our school community for their

amazing patience and understanding with the closure

of our school after the cyclone. Unfortunately, we

cannot open if there are any safety concerns. Due to

the age of our school, we always have debris from our

beautiful trees. Thanks to Northwest Tree Lopping and

Turf Guru. We were able to salvage part of our

beautiful mahogany for the students to enjoy. A huge

thank you to our amazing gardener Andy Bradshaw

who has done an awesome job in preparing our school

to reopen.

YOUNG LEADERS DAY

This year our Leadership Day was held at the

Leisureplex on April 1. Our Prefects and Faction

Leaders attended the conference where they worked

in teams with the student leaders from all other

Karratha schools.

Thank you to Mrs Nichole Smith, who accompanied our

school team.

ANZAC SERVICE

Our school will be holding a special ANZAC Service on

Friday 12th April commencing at 8.30am. Class

Representatives will be laying wreathes and our

Prefects will be leading the service. A representative

from the Pilbara Regiment will also be joining us.

Please come along and join us for this special service.

The Prefects will also be representing our school at the

City of Karratha ANZAC service on April 25th. The

service begins at 6.00am. All students and their

families are welcome to be part of this very special

service.

and reasoning to play games such as KenKen, Rowco

and Checkers. We have had a ball competing against

and with each other whilst learning fun, math games!

HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS

During enrichment this term we have created memes,

both true and false news stories. The students are

learning the who, when, what, where, why and how of

a news story!!

Some of the students are enthusiastically displaying

their acting talents.

Mr Pether

KWIK CRICKET

For enrichment this term the students are learning

how to strike, throw and bowl in cricket. The skills are

taught and put to use in a variety of game based

cricket activities.
