Fall 2017

Dear High School Personnel,

Thank you for inquiring about our Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program. Since

2007, the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) has been working with the Jumpstart

Program in the state of Nevada to offer junior and senior high school students the

opportunity to “Jumpstart” their college pathway. Our focus is to provide students with

rigorous academic courses taught by CSN qualified high school instructors who teach

the courses in their familiar high school environment.

By enrolling in our Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program, junior and senior high

school students can enroll in a maximum of four (4) concurrent courses at their high

school each semester (fall & spring) for a reduced fee and earn college credit and high

school credit simultaneously for collegiate-level courses. Our concurrent enrollment high

school instructors are approved and trained by CSN to use CSN’s curriculum, texts,

assessment, and grading scales to ensure curriculum alignment with the college course.

The purchase of the required CSN approved textbooks is the sole responsibility of each

high school to lent to students each semester.

To get started, qualified high school instructors are encouraged to gather the required

academic credentials and contact our office to meet with a Jumpstart staff to review

and discuss the program’s objectives.

Due no later than April 15, 2018: (for courses offered in the following fall semester)

□ Approval form

□ Letter of interest

□ updated resume.

□ unofficial undergraduate/graduate transcripts

□ CCSD principal letter of support

Once the high school instructor has been approved by their respective CSN

department chair, the Jumpstart Office will work closely with the high school to recruit

students and develop the college courses. For your perusal, I’ve enclosed informative

Jumpstart materials to better assist you in getting started.

Feel free to contact our office if you should have any questions.

Respectfully,

Nora Mirabal

What are the eligibility requirements? To qualify for the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program, students must:

(1) Be a junior or senior in one of our participating high schools; (2) Must be in good standing with their high school; (3) Students must meet the CSN Accuplacer test scores for English, Reading and Math and/ or use

ACT/SAT Scores in lieu. (Required for students taking English and/ or Math course.) What is the cost to the student? ALL Jumpstart courses cost ONLY $50 per course, the college charges an additional technology fee of $6.50 per credit. (Fees subject to change.)

• A 3-credit course cost is $69.50 ($50 + $6.50 X 3 cr.) • A 4-credit course cost is $76.00 ($50 + $6.50 X 4 cr.) • A 5-credit course cost is $82.50 ($50 + $6.50 X 5 cr.)

What is a Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program high school designee? High School Designees are the program primary point of contact at each high school. They serve a critical role at each of their schools, helping us to:

• Effectively communicate up-to-date program information with Jumpstart teachers, counselors and administrators by distributing and/or forwarding any Jumpstart Program information and materials to the appropriate groups;

• Contact the Jumpstart Office and request the set-up of courses for each semester; • Serve as the primary point of contact for their school’s staff and participating Jumpstart

students; • Provide the Jumpstart Office, with the required forms:

Course Rosters/ Transcript Approval Rosters Student Authorization Forms Third Party/ Intent Letter Schedule Accuplacer exams and or collect all ACT/SAT test scores

What is the minimum and maximum number of students allowed in each Jumpstart class? The minimum number of students that can be in one Jumpstart course is 10. The maximum number of students that can be in one Jumpstart course is 35. If the minimum number goes below 10 the course may be subject to cancellation. All Jumpstart classes are restricted to Jumpstart students ONLY. How many classes can a student take per semester? Students can enroll in a maximum of four (4) classes per semester.

How do Jumpstart instructors and schools benefit by participating with the Program? The Jumpstart Program provides high school teachers with ongoing professional development led by CSN college faculty. The interaction between CSN and the participating high schools fosters strong local networks among secondary and postsecondary educators.

CSN 3RD PARTY BILLING WHAT IS 3RD PARTY BILLING?

Third (3rd) Party Billing is a hassle-free way to have high school students who have applied for admission and received their NSHE ID numbers, registered by the admission’s office at CSN. Once the students have been registered the registrar’s office at CSN mails an invoice to the high school for payment for all student fees. The high school is invoiced 2-4 weeks after the semester begins. Payment is made to CSN’s registrar’s office in one check. Students pay their school banker for their Jumpstart course fees. BENEFITS OF 3rd PARTY BILLING

CSN registers all the students

CSN invoices the high school 2-4 weeks after the semester begins

Students pay their high school banker for their fees

CSN identifies and shares with the high school any student whose CSN account is past due

Students are exempt from being overcharged for their Jumpstart courses as we investigate the overcharges and correct them

No need for Late Enrollment and Appeal forms

If a student is removed from class prior to the high school being invoiced, the high school will not be responsible for the charge of that student

Students are not purged. Being placed on 3rd party automatically protects students from being withdrawn; unless the request comes from the high school or the student

STEPS NECESSARY TO INITIATE 3RD PARTY BILLING

As early as May (for the fall semester) and December (for the spring semester) and no later than the week prior to the beginning of each semester, the high school initiates and submits to our office a letter of intent requesting to be placed on 3rd Party Billing:

Must be on school letterhead

Include date, school telephone number and billing address

Principal’s signature

Jumpstart class name(s) and course number(s)

ONE week prior to the beginning of the college semester, high schools provide an electronic copy of class rosters, with student names and NSHE ID (roster attached)

For more information on our convenient 3rd Party Billing, please contact our office at (702) 651-3179 or by Email: [email protected] College of Southern Nevada Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program (702) 651-3179

Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) Instructor Non-Compliance Policy for Professional Development

All CEP instructors are expected to attend annual professional development to stay informed of college expectations as they relate to current course content and rigor. C E P Instructors are expected to attend the annual discipline-specific workshop to stay in compliance with the policy, and the request for attendance is considered mandatory. The CEP instructors are provided the opportunity to sign their semester contract during the professional development, and it is used to motivate their attendance.

The Assistant Director of the Jumpstart program maintains documentation of annual CEP professional development participation for all CEP Instructors. The Assistant Director conducts an annual compliance review and notifies those CEP instructors who are in danger of non-compliance with the participation policy.

In the event a CEP instructor misses the annual professional development workshop and has not made arrangements to meet individually with the faculty l i a i s o n prior to the start of the term, the following will result:

1. The faculty l i a i s o n will contact the C E P instructor to coordinate a meeting.

An individual meeting between the faculty l i a i s o n and C E P instructor will serve as a substitute (on a one-time-basis) for the annual professional development workshop. The primary focus of the meeting will be to review discipline-specific expectations related to course content and rigor, as conducted during the professional development.

2. If the CEP instructor is unable to meet with the faculty liaison, cancels the meeting, or

is unwilling to find a time to meet, the Assistant Director will advise the High School Administrator and CEP instructor that his/her course is in jeopardy of being cancelled. The C E P instructor will then be responsible for contacting the faculty l i a i s o n to schedule a meeting and report back to the Assistant Director with the meeting specifics.

3. If the instructor misses the annual professional development workshops and DOES NOT

meet with the faculty liaison prior to the start of the succeeding academic year, the instructor will be put on probation for a one-year period. During the probationary period, the CEP instructor MUST meet with the faculty l ia ison and attend the next professional development workshop. The high school principal and liaison will both be informed of the probationary period and consequences of non-compliance.

4. If, at the end of the year of probation the instructor is still non-compliant, the CEP

course is cancelled and the instructor is no longer considered a CEP instructor for that course.

NOTE: If an instructor has been approved to offer C E P courses in more than one discipline, workshop attendance is tracked for each discipline. Cancellation of one CEP course due to non-compliance does not automatically cancel other CEP courses.

Page 24: Principals & High School Staff Interest Packet...Office of the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program Nora Mirabal, Assistant Director 303 South Water Street, #203A (sort code: HNDT)

Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) Instructor Non-Compliance Policy for Course Content

All CEP instructors are expected to adhere to the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) common course outline content, academic rigor, and assessment components. Non-compliance occurs when any of the outlined R e c ourse content expectations are not adhered to.

If the faculty liaison has significant concerns regarding a CEP instructor’s adherence to the course content, academic rigor, and/or assessment components, the instructional issues will be addressed on a case-by-case basis, with the goal of assisting the CEP instructor to correct the concerns.

1. The faculty l ia ison’s concerns will be documented in writing in the site visit report

and sent to the Assistant Director of Academic Partnerships. The written documentation will be kept in the CEP Program’s Master Files.

2. The Assistant Director will contact the high school administrator to coordinate a

meeting with the C E P instructor, faculty liaison, and high school administrator to discuss instructional concerns and develop an action plan.

3. The faculty l i a i s o n will follow up with the C E P instructor, either through

another meeting or through a classroom observation, to determine if the concerns outlined in the action plan have been addressed and resolved.

4. If, after thorough consultation and careful consideration, the Assistant Director of

Academic Partnerships, the faculty l ia ison, and the Academic Chair determine that the course does not maintain college quality, the Assistant Director will cancel the course for the subsequent academic year, and the instructor will lose his/her status as a C E P instructor in that discipline. The high school administration will be informed of the College's decision, and t h e A s s i s t a n t Director will work with the high school to identify another instructor, if appropriate.

NOTE: If an instructor has been approved to offer CEP courses in more than one discipline or course, the faculty l iaison for each area will assess adherence to course content. Cancellation of one CEP course due to non-compliance does not automatically cancel other CEP courses.

Greetings From Our President

Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program Welcome Letter

Welcome to the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program at the College of Southern Nevada, where

student success and excellence are the highest priority.

Jumpstart is designed to give you an opportunity to get a “Jumpstart” on college by taking courses

that provide high school and college-level credit at a reduced price.

We know that by 2020, 58 percent of Nevada jobs will require a career certificate or college degree.

A college degree opens doors and increases earning potential. Through Jumpstart you will get a head

start and attain college-level skills and credit as well as develop the confidence necessary to succeed

in college.

Whether you want to pursue a trade, bachelor’s degree, or obtain certain industry or professional

skills after high school, CSN has a program to meet your needs. And the best part is that you can get

started now and save significant family income through the Jumpstart program.

Learning is the key to lifelong success and provides a bridge from one day to the next. We hope you

enjoy the journey.

Sincerely,

Michael D. Richards, Ph.D.

President, College of Southern Nevada

Definition of Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent enrollment refers to a student who earns both high school and college credit for college

approved courses which are normally offered at the high school site and taught by college-certified

high school instructors.

Understanding the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program

The purpose of this Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Manual is to serve as a reference guide for

students and parents/guardians of high school students who participate in the Jumpstart Concurrent

Enrollment Program with the College of Southern Nevada. It is designed to better prepare students to

succeed in the concurrent enrollment program, to motivate them to continue into post -secondary

education and to assist with the transition from high school to college. It is our goal to provide

excellent clear understanding on how to successfully apply for admission, register and pay for

college classes and successfully and actively engage and learn with each college-level class taken

with the Jumpstart program. The college courses and credits earned are reflected on the student’s

college transcripts. Participation in this program will allow students to gain insight into the college

academic experience.

Objectives of Concurrent Enrollment

Facilitate a seamless transition from the high school to the college classroom,

Provide an opportunity for students to take core curriculum requirements while still enrolled

in high school so that course duplication might be eliminated,

Provide additional opportunities for college bound students to embrace academic challenges,

Provide an opportunity for high school students to start progress on a certificate, associate or

bachelor’s degree.

In an effort to ensure the equivalency of the concurrent enrollment courses, College of Southern

Nevada will adhere to best practices set forth by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment

Partnerships (NACEP) pertaining to:

Course equivalency

Student eligibility

Course placement procedures

Faculty qualifications

Faculty evaluations

Faculty orientation and development

Assessment of student outcomes

Specifically, our goals are to:

Ensure that concurrent enrollment classes are taught at the collegiate level

Ensure that only qualified high school students enroll in concurrent enrollment courses and

have the same rights of access privileges and levels of support as CSN on-campus students

Ensure students in the Jumpstart concurrent enrollment classes are following the same student

compliance standards as campus CSN students; and,

Ensure that concurrent enrollment faculty has qualifications that meet both CSN and CCSD

requirements, as well as meet NACEP compliance with the Standards (specialized and

professional) 3

Page 30: Principals & High School Staff Interest Packet...Office of the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program Nora Mirabal, Assistant Director 303 South Water Street, #203A (sort code: HNDT)

Benefits of the Jumpstart Program

Students have the opportunity to earn high school and college credit simultaneously.

Students gain an early start on achieving a certificate of completion, an associate or

baccalaureate degree.

Students are considered CSN students and are therefore allowed access to all services

provided by the institution.

Students work towards completing their college core requirements while also finishing their

high school diploma, simultaneously.

Depending on the class and the grade achieved therein, students may transfer courses to four-

year institutions.

Classes are taken for a reduced fee, when compared to the normal college tuition.

College approved textbooks are loaned to students and are FREE of charge.

Student Academic Eligibility

The student must be a high school junior or senior; diagnostics and assessments appropriate for

placement in the course may be administered to the class members by CSN, following NSHE

Board policies (i.e., English and mathematics levels); Students may be referred to the program by

CCSD instructors, counselor, principal and by parents/guardians; CSN and CCSD officials will

review each referral individually for eligibility; and CSN and CCSD administration must concur

in the student’s qualification. Only students who are attending and enrolled in a participating high

school may enroll in the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program.

Selection Criteria

Our goal is that selected students be successful in the classes. It is strongly recommended that

students show strong academic progress in certain core courses including mathematics and

English. Students must understand that their performance in concurrent enrollment courses can

and will affect their future collegiate experiences. For example, if a student does not earn a grade

of “C” or better in the ENG 100 or ENG 101 class, then the student will not be allowed to take

the ENG 102 course since passing ENG 100 or ENG 101 with a “C” or better is a course

prerequisite.

Also, students must understand that poor academic performance in a concurrent enrollment class

can negatively affect the student’s ability to earn scholarships and financial assistance. The

college assumes no responsibility for the impact of failure on a concurrent enrollment student in

college level courses; nor does the college assume any responsibility for the impact of failure

upon the student’s high school academic progress.

Course Selection

With the approval of the high school principal or designee (usually a counselor), students may

enroll in any credit course offered by CSN with the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program.

The College reserves the right to cancel a concurrent enrollment class due to lack of student

interest or participation. The final determination of course offerings is based on the availability of

qualified faculty to teach the course, student interest and participation.

4

Page 31: Principals & High School Staff Interest Packet...Office of the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program Nora Mirabal, Assistant Director 303 South Water Street, #203A (sort code: HNDT)

Course Transfer

Transfer courses include those courses that may be used toward the completion of a baccalaureate

degree at four-year colleges and universities for transfer credit evaluation (e.g., English, Biology,

Mathematics, Psychology, History, etc.). These general education courses usually transfer to most

colleges and universities, both public and private. However, CSN cannot guarantee that all

colleges and universities will accept all credits. It is strongly recommended students contact the

Admission’s Office at the institution of choice regarding questions about course/credit transfer.

Tuition and Savings

Students qualified to take Jumpstart courses at their high school will pay a reduced fee of $50 per

course, plus a $6.50 technology fee, per credit. The fees for the Jumpstart courses are as

followed:

3 credit courses - $ 69.50

4 credit courses - $ 76.00

5 credit courses - $ 82.50

Families can save from $10,000 - $15,000 in tuition costs for every year of college offset through

our Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program. Room and board savings can total an additional

$10,000 - $15,000 per year.

College Textbooks

College/State approved textbooks are purchased by the participating high school and loaned for

FREE to students participating with the program. These textbooks must be returned in good

condition at the end of each semester.

Online Course Fees

For online courses, parents are responsible for CSN processing online fees (approximately

$10.00). This processing fee is in addition to the regular concurrent tuition fees. Based on

actual student success rates in online college courses, we recommend that students first

experience traditional, face-to-face classes before taking online courses.

Admission/Registration Requirements/Authorization Form/Deadlines

A clear understanding of the admission and registration process is important to the successful

execution of the concurrent enrollment program. Following is a step-by-step description of the

process.

Meet with high school counselor with parents. All students interested in participating in the

Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program offered by CSN should discuss interest with his/her

parent(s)/guardian(s) along with the school counselor.

Junior or senior high school students ONLY. Students must be a junior or senior high school

student in good standing (actively attending and registered at a participating high school).

Online admission’s process. Upon approval of the school counselor and agreement by

parent(s)/guardian(s), students must complete the online CSN admission form in its entirety to

receive their NSHE ID (student 10-digit number) and individual password to access their CSN

online account. This form may also be found on the Jumpstart web page by logging on to

www.csn.edu/jumpstart .

Take appropriate testing. After receiving the NSHE ID and Password, students wishing to

enroll into an English and/or math concurrent enrollment course must take the English,

Reading and Mathematic Accuplacer placement exam with our Testing Department or at the

high school with a CSN recruiter. Students may use their ACT and SAT scores in lieu of

placement exams if their test scores meet the requirements. Please refer to pages 17-19 of this

guidebook for more information, required passing scores, hours of operation and to schedule

an online appointment or log on to www.csn.edu/testing .)

Verify online admission’s form and student high school status. CSN staff will review course

requests to verify that students have met all prerequisites as established by CSN and CCSD.

Only after all prerequisites and placement testing have been successfully completed will

students be eligible to enroll in concurrent enrollment courses.

Students enrolled into (approved) concurrent enrollment courses. At the designated time as

Add/Drop & Withdrawal Policy

We understand that students may not be prepared for the commitment and discipline required to be

successful in a college course. Students have the opportunity, in consultation with the counselor, to

remove themselves from the selected class. It is the student’s responsibility to contact their school

counselor immediately if they are considering dropping a concurrent enrollment class. Ultimately,

it is the responsibility of the student to remove himself/herself by withdrawing from the CSN

concurrent enrollment class by login into MyCSN within the 60% semester timeline as designated

by CSN. Therefore, it is imperative that students be aware of two key dates during the course of

the semester: The Add/Drop deadline and Withdrawal deadlines. Counselors and teachers will be

informed of these deadlines at the beginning of each semester. Classes dropped by the date

designated by CSN will not be reflected on the student’s CSN transcript. However, if the student

does not manually withdrawal himself/herself from CSN, the teacher responsible for teaching the

Jumpstart concurrent enrollment course is obligated to post a grade of A-F on the class roster for

that student. The grade posted will be reflected on the student’s CSN transcript.

Refund Policy

There will be NO payment refund made to students of the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment

Program AFTER 11:59 p.m. the day BEFORE the semester begins. Full refunds will be made to

students who withdraw from their concurrent enrollment class prior to 11:59 p.m. the day

BEFORE the first day of the semester. Refunds will be made in the same manner in which

payment was rendered. Example: If a credit card was used to make the payment, a credit will be

issued to the credit card used.

PLACEMENT TEST& RETEST GUIDELINES

Complete the English, Reading and Mathematics Placement Process or submit official

advanced placement or SAT/ACT Scores.

In order to be eligible for concurrent enrollment courses with CSN, students must meet the appropriate

prerequisites and placement testing requirements as defined by CSN. All New Degree/Certificate and

Transfer students must take all three placement exams before taking any classes. Unless the student

can place into Math and English (and have reading scores to bypass the reading requirement) via other

methods: ACT/SAT and/or Transfer Credits (takes about 8 weeks) of College level Math and English

into the CSN database. Fall 2016 and FORWARD, English 100/101/113 will use Reading Requirement

Prerequisite. This means if a student does not score 86 or higher on the Reading test, he/she will be

required to take a READING COURSE before becoming eligible to enroll into an English course.

Current students who have not tested are strongly encouraged to do so. Students interested in enrolling

in English, Reading and Mathematic courses that require additional placement testing levels must

achieve the minimum curriculum and testing score requirements for placement into the requested class.

For more test score requirements log on to www.csn.edu/testing.

Follow the three steps below to make sure you are placed in the class that is right for you:

Prepare for your placements in person and online. Preparing for English, Reading and Math placement

is easy when you use our specially designed in-person and online practice sites:

To review for the English Placement Test, visit http://www.csn.edu/pages/4850.asp or speak one-on-

one with a friendly and knowledgeable Writing Assistant in the CSN Writing Centers for an in-person

review for English placement.

Book No appointments are required. Placement testing is done on a walk-in basis. Placement testing is

FREE of charge. You can, however, make an appointment to ensure a spot to test in the mornings.

Appointments (for placement tests) can be done over the phone for the mornings only. Limited spots

will be available at each campus from 8am to 10am, Monday through Friday. The spot will be held for

10 minutes after the reserved time, before it will be opened up to walk-ins. When making appointments

please mention the appointment is for CSN Placement Testing. This will ensure you are not confused

with other institution testing which require a fee. For information or to schedule an appointment, contact

one of the three CSN campuses’ Testing Center: Charleston: (702) 651-5733 ext. 2; North Las Vegas:

SAT and ACT Guidelines

You may submit your SAT or ACT scores as an alternate to placement testing. The scores will be

evaluated for appropriate course placement. Scores are accepted in the following formats: official

score sheets sent by US mail to the candidate can be faxed to the Testing Center directly from the

candidate’s high school, or visually viewed by a CSN Testing Proctor are accepted. The three

main Testing Centers will allow students to login to the ACT or SAT website at a CSN Testing

Center and show the score results to a CSN Proctor to be recorded for placement. This is the least

expensive and quickest method. CSN does not accept printouts from the SAT or ACT

website.

Placement tests are not required if you took English and math College Board Advanced Placement

Examinations and earned a score of 4 or 5 in either or both subjects. Please submit your official

results to the Office of the Registrar by using the Transfer Credit Evaluation Form.

Retest Scores are valid for two years. Placement tests may be retaken after 2 (two) weeks, but no student

may take each exam more than 2 (two) times in a 6 (six) month period.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a Federal law that protects the

privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an

applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.

Disclosure of Information from Education Records to Parents

of Students Attending Postsecondary Institutions

What are parents’ and students’ rights under FERPA?

At the K-12 school level, FERPA provides parents with the right to inspect and review their

children’s education records, the right to seek to amend information in the records they believe to

be inaccurate, misleading, or an invasion of privacy, and the right to consent to the disclosure of

personally identifiable information from their children’s education records. When a student

turns 18 years old or enters a postsecondary institution at any age, these rights under

FERPA transfer from the student’s parents to the student. Under FERPA, a student to whom

the rights have transferred is known as an “eligible student.” Although the law does say that the

parents’ rights afforded by FERPA transfer to the “eligible student,” FERPA clearly provides

ways in which an institution can share education records on the student with his or her parents.

While concerns have been expressed about the limitations on the release of information, there are

exceptions to FERPA’s general rule that educational agencies and institutions subject to FERPA

may not have a policy or practice of disclosing “education records” without the written consent of

the parent (at the K-12 level) or the “eligible student.”

Attendance and Grades

Students enrolled with the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program with the College of

Southern Nevada are expected to attend classes and to notify the instructor when absences are

necessary. Students are responsible for all material, homework, tests, and other assignments

missed due to absences from classes. In the course syllabus that is furnished to students, faculty

members clearly describe the college’s attendance policy and their policies for students

concerning attendance.

Disruptive Students

Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Individuals who engage in disruptive behavior will be

asked to cease/desist and warned that further disruption will be subject to disciplinary action.

Depending upon the severity or repetitive nature of the act, disciplinary action by college

personnel may include asking the student to leave the area; exclusion from class, activity, or

area; and/or contacting school security for assistance. Further disciplinary action may be taken

by the Student Conduct Code Officer in accordance with CSN’s catalog. In the case of violation

of this policy, a concurrent student enrolled with the Jumpstart Concurrent Enrollment Program

taught at the high school site would be subject to both high school and college disciplinary

procedures. The complete Student Conduct Code is available under Policies and Procedures on

the CSN website at http://www.csn.edu/pages/510.asp as well as on our Jumpstart website at

www.csn.edu/jumpstart .

Academic Dishonesty/Plagiarism

Academic integrity is a legitimate concern for every member of the CSN college community.

By joining the CSN college community, students accept the expectations to always take the

ethical path and uphold the standards for integrity and honesty in their individual academic

studies and to encourage others to do the same. It is the policy of CSN to review and

investigate all allegations of violations of the academic integrity policy, and if violations

have occurred, to impose appropriate sanctions that maintain the integrity of CSN's

academic courses and programs. CSN students assume the obligation to conduct themselves with

integrity in their academic pursuits and in a manner that is compatible with this policy, the CSN

Student Conduct Code, the NSHE Code, and CSN's mission as an educational institution with high

standards of integrity overall. Students who violate these standards for academic honesty and

integrity will be subject to CSN's disciplinary process. For more information on this policy

statement please login to Academic integrity is a legitimate concern for every member of the CSN
