Thanks to those who joined us for Mass and came over for our refreshments in the cafeteria. Thanks to those who attended the Internet Safety presentation. Despite a snowy night, we had a remarkable number of parents in attendance. We estimate that we gave out nearly 200 dress down certificates which means that many families now have important information to consider as they make decisions about the use of technology in their homes. Thanks to Jen Rarick and the PTO for the organization of this event. We have had requests for a return visit from Jesse Weinberger. In the interim, you can follow her on FaceBook at Overnightgeek University. Our External Validation site visit will be held on February 9-10, 2015. Gesu School will be visited by an accreditation team that will review our school improvement goals, tour our school building and visit with our faculty and staff for the purpose of our school accreditation. Just a reminder that we will not have school on Friday, February 13th due to a Teacher Professional Development Day. 29th Annual Science Olympiad On Friday, January 30th, students from fourth, fifth and sixth grade en- gaged in an evening filled with hands-on Science Experiments during the SCIENCE OLYMPIAD. First Place Winners of the Gesu Olympiad will go on to John Carroll University and compete in the Diocesan competition in mid March. The following stu- dents placed FIRST: AERODYNAMICS: Ryan Halloran and Ben Gehrlein CATAPULT: Kaitlyn McNeill and Jackie Patton CSI GESU: Sam Brown and Jack Schmitt MYSTERY POWDERS: Graham Miller and Sam Brown REFLECTION RELAY: Ryan Halloran, Sam Olack, Jack Czenszak ROTOR EGG DROP: Dante Rosalina and Jack Cocco SINKING SHIP: Jack Cocco and Luke Brandon TOWER BUILDING: Brenna Czenszak and Anna Cocco WHAT WENT BY?: Anna Cocco and Brenna Czenszak WRITE IT, DO IT: Kate Auletta and Francesca Carlo A Special thanks to PTO for the trophies and ribbons that were given to the students at the Awards Ceremony.
