New digital signboard for JCS Gym When the extended JCS gym was launched earlier in the year Michael Henley approached the school to offer the purchase of a digital scoreboard. The board was recently installed in the gym to be used by students and hopefully
the wider school community in time to come. Mr Henley commented it would be a great thing to see an evening local basketball competition held in
the gym. The school sincerely appreciates the new scoreboard and looks forward to it getting a lot of use.

Enriching to learn about world-wide water struggles
Students involved in the JCS Enrichment program have been looking into how
remote communities around the world use water. Through studying Nepal and other developing countries the students learned about their struggles to get water
for daily use, the poor quality of water and that villagers have to sometimes choose between water for living or to water crops.
The students simulated what it would be like for young villagers who walk for hours each day carrying water up and down mountain paths for their family instead of going to school.

JCS students learn the motivation behind White Ribbon Day
On the 7th of November five primary students and five high school students travelled to Queanbeyan to attend the White Ribbon Day held by NSW
Police. It was an eye-opening, inspirational experience as we listened, learnt and empathised with four amazingly strong victims of domestic violence. We
gained significant knowledge about the prolific nature of this issue in our society, as 1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence. One lesson we
took on board is that “even if we are not part of the problem, we are all part of the solution”. Evrim Aktekin

JINDABYNE CENTRAL SCHOOL
As we draw closer to Christmas it is a good time to stop and think
about those families in our community less fortunate than our own. While we plan what we buy our loved ones and what food
we might serve on Christmas Day, there are families in our community that are wondering how they are going to provide a meal on Christmas Day. A simple way to help is to donate a non-
perishable food item or an unwrapped new toy (please no stuffed toys as the Salvo’s have enough of these already).
By donating a non-perishable food item you will be helping
families or individuals enjoy a special Christmas meal. These foods will be collected and delivered to the Salvation Army where
they can be distributed to the families in need. Please be aware that Occupational Health & Safety Legislation
does not allow for the distribution of second hand toys, so please only send in new ones.
When you donate, know that your contribution is greatly appreciated.
Please bring your donations to the front office by Monday 4th December
