Maths – dailyI have taken out a subscription for the Whiterose home learning resources to make it easier for you to access worksheets. The link is https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-4/ . Choose Premium Resource centre and then resources, Year 4 and then the appropriate week.The log on details are sarah.george and the password is SFXyear42020. You can only access Year 4 with this log in please log out afterwards so other people can log on. You will see each week for this term. The video links take you to the vimeo lesson film and then you print out the corresponding worksheet or rather than print it out, the children can view it on the screen and write the answers on a piece of paper. The answers are on the next icon.Week 1 – Decimals, Week 2 – Decimals and money, Week 3 – Multiply and divide, Week 4 – Perimeter and area, Week 5 – Fractions, Week 6 – Fractions, Week 7 – Tenths and Hundredths, Week 8 – Decimals, Week 9 – Money, Week 10 – Charts and Graphs, Week 11 – Angles, Week 12 – Symmetry and position, Week 13 – Revision (choose from any week).There are also the usual videos on the White Rose home learning section and corresponding activities on a Bitesize link.Alternatively, there are daily maths lessons on BBC Bitesize if you prefer.

ReadingThe Whale by Ethan and Rita Murrow.Look at the picture book The Whale by Ethan and Rita Murrow. This is the book we are using in class. There is a flip through book onhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH-OxClcPq0It is about an adventurer called Lucy who tries to find a great spotted whale that her Grandmother found. Disaster strikes when she gets caught up in a storm. There aren’t any words but there is lots of detail in the pictures.A good book to read is Why the Whales Came by Micheal Morpurgo. RE – God’s PeopleScripture to read. John 3: 1-3, Colossians 3: 12-13, Corinthians 12: 4-30, Thessalonians 5: 14-15, Romans 12:4-5Ordinary People who do extraordinary things.Think of someone that is a role model to you. It might be someone famous or it could be a member of your family/community.
Make a poster of your role model. Include a photograph and write about the qualities they have. What are the qualities you like? Which of these qualities do you have?
