Dr. Kelli Ward (R)Dr. Kelli Ward is a Constitutional conservative. She is a family physician, a mother, a military spouse, a Rotarian, and has owned and operated a small business. Dr. Ward’s priorities are jobs and the economy, education and healthcare. She feels she is a community

advocate and resource and believes healthcare will be a critical issue for Arizonans in the 2013 Legislative Session. Dr. Ward feels that having a physician with the interests of patients at heart is very important to Arizona and that simply having lobbyists, bureaucrats and big insurance companies determining how healthcare monies are spent is not what the residents of District 5 want. Dr. Ward is an advocate for private enterprise that in turn creates jobs; and believes in lower taxes, less regulation, strong defense and a strong border.

Dr. Ward is married to Dr. Michael Ward. They have three children and she is a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is a longtime Chamber member, a graduate of Havasu Leadership Development and has served on the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee. She is a member of the Lake Havasu City Rotary Club.

George Schnittgrund (R)George Schnittgrund has lived in Lake Havasu City for the past 10 years, moving from Colorado where he worked for 6 years as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician. He started his own over-the-road trucking company in 2004 and a global logistics agency in 2008.

George grew up in a rural community just outside of Denver and feels he understands the needs of the rural communities in District 5. He has watched tax dollars flow out of our counties and thinks it is important that District 5’s next state representative works to keep tax monies in local communities. George thinks the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold a portion of SB 1070 is a good starting point in ensuring Arizona can protect its own borders and will work to strengthen the law and provide law enforcement additional tools for enforcement. He believes Arizona’s best days are ahead and that great strides already taken to get the state back on track, should continue in the effort to provide fiscal stability and economic growth.

She was named to the All State School Board in 2005, an award from the Arizona School Boards Association.

time he was a consultant to the drug and medical device industry.

Dean feels the three issues that define the incoming city council are: Continue the conservative fiscal objectives that have been in place for the last six years; continue the growth and employment opportunities as may be available and can be affected by City policy; and review the sewer financial obligations to make sure that Lake Havasu City citizens are fairly assessed their share of the obligation.
