Primary 3 Home Learning Choice Board Week Beginning Monday 1st June 2020
Literacy
Listen to me read ‘The Lion Inside’
(available in ‘Staff Stories’ and on Parent
Council Facebook page).
Writing: compare and contrast the lion and
the mouse characters. Write about
similarities and differences between the 2
characters.
Challenge: can you identify the rhyming
words in the story? Write more words (not
from the story) that rhyme with them.
Art

Take part in a draw along with Jim
Field and learn how to draw one of his
famous characters.

Take part in this new Number Talks
with your family (see page 3). You
could try it independently then share
your strategies with a member of your

Design another obstacle course for
you and your family to complete. Did
you have a favourite activity from our
PE sessions that you could include?
Use items you have in your house e.g.
speed bounce could be completed by
bouncing over a wooden spoon!

your password. Choose a different text to
read independently and/or to your family.
Identify the ‘special friends’ in your text.
Challenge: make a list of words with
‘special friends’ you found within the book.

friends’.

Health and Wellbeing
Linking with the release of my
butterflies last week (see Caterpillar
Diaries videos), can you make a healthy
snack in the shape of a butterfly? Try
some foods you might not have tried
before.
Challenge: aim to make it symmetrical.

throwing skills.

Welcome to our Primary Music Day! Here’s what we would like you to do…

2) Choose a colour to learn:
- Yellow – sing with actions
- Blue – sing with shaker
- Pink – ukulele
- Green – glockenspiel, piano, flute, violin, cello, recorder
- Red – body percussion
3) Learn your colour part. There are instructions and a teaching video below to help you. You may find it helpful to zoom in on them. Take a photo of you singing/playing that part.
4) Send it to: [email protected]
5) Make sure to get your parent/carer to write this agreement when you send in your photo or video.
“I give my permission to use the photograph/video of ……………………. (child’s name) in the compilation video of the Primary Music Day on
