(a) A self-contained residence used exclusively for residential purposes and rated as a separate property. Excludes institutional purposes such as accommodation for the aged or university residents.

(b) Applies to the portion of property value greater than $10 million.

(c) Customers that have been assessed by the Australian Taxation Office and receive an exemption for income tax are eligible for concessional prices as a charitable organisation.

(d) Eligible not-for-profit children's services centres as defined under the Children's Services Act 1985.

(e) The concession price only applies to water used to fill the pool, toilet and shower block used directly in connection with the pool.

(f) General concession includes eligible sporting and recreation clubs, grounds and facilities, and fire-fighting services.

(g) Water closet charges are applied where they are less than the standard charge.

(h) An indirect connection charge may apply where a property cannot drain directly into our sewerage network but pumps septic tank effluent to the nearest sewerage main.

(i) Country land customers may be exempt from additional meter charges, depending on property size.

(j) If a customer receives both drinking and recycled water, only one fixed charge is applied.

Note: Pursuant to the Water Industry Regulations 2012 (regulations 38) and Government Gazette 6 June 2013, SA Water may levy an availability charge despite the fact that the land is not connected to SA Water’s infrastructure.

All charges for sewerage services and the availability charge for water applying to commercial properties are based on the property valuation of the land. Property values are set annually by the Valuer-General for the next financial year. Some water and sewerage customers may be eligible for exemption from rating on abuttal.
