Tingalpa Landscaping Supplies opened for business in 1982 and was owned and operated by the Semmens family. Located on the corner of Manly and New Cleveland Roads at Tingalpa, the prime income was derived from selling timber logs, but the company soon recognised the need to diversify into a much wider range of landscaping supplies.

In 2010 Tingalpa Landscaping Supplies relocated to its current home some 6km south at Chandler, making way for a new Masters Home Improvement Centre.

In 2013 the Sihota family, owners and operators of The Flower Farm at Birkdale, acquired Tingalpa Landscaping Supplies and in doing so retained Matthew Semmens as the general manager (the son of the founder). Matthew grew up in his father’s

business and continues to work alongside yard staff and drivers who have been with the company since the ‘good old days’.

The cumulative experience in this landscaping supplies business spans generations giving clients the best hands-on advice and assistance. The company has over 7 trucks in their fleet servicing customers across the Bayside and Brisbane and allowing for same day delivery.

The younger crowd may know them as “TLS” or Total Landscaping Supplies but true to their roots, it remains the infamous Tingalpa Landscaping Supplies.

We are proud to be connoisseurs in our field, sourcing only the highest quality and stocking the biggest range of products in Brisbane and backing this up with unbeatable service.

Forest FinesAlso known as Green waste, these fines give a soil like appearance

and used widely in high profile gardens throughout Brisbane.

Red Cypress BlendLovely, fine cypress bark that gives a reddish appearance mixed

with fine cypress chip that helps open the mulch up to enable

better water penetration. *natural resistance to white ants.

Red Cypress MulchA fine cypress bark that gives a reddish appearance highlighting

the plants in the garden. *natural resistance to white ants.

Forest MulchA cheaper alternative that may suit for large areas that need to be

covered on a budget.

Hoop BarkFines: Lovely fine material that is chocolate-brown in colour and

resembles soil thus enhancing the foliage of your plants.

25mm: This is a blend of 25mm strips mixed with fines, giving the best

of both worlds. The fines component breaks down into the soil leaving

the 25mm strips as our base layer bark.

50mm: 50mm wide strips that are great for sloping gardens as they

hold together. This is also ideal for commercial applications.

Slash Bark (Tan Bark)Fines (softfall): Up to 10mm in size and perfect for placing under

playground equipment.

25mm: Reddy-brown in colour with minimum slither - also once

known as tan bark/pine bark.

75mm: As with the 25mm, the larger chunks appeal for larger area.

Organic Garden SoilThis soil can be used in any

application (other than for young

natives). It is a blend of sandy loam

soil mixed with ‘fully composted’

organics that is friable and workable

under all applications whether under

turf, generally in gardens, to establish

vegetable gardens, or podiums

(planter boxes).

Premium Garden SoilThis is a rich, organic soil that is ideal

for under turf and general planting.

It has a pH range between 5.5 to 7

and provides even more enhanced

growth of plants when blended with

fertiliser specific to the plantings.

Over Turf SoilIdeal for top-dressing your lawn and

doubles as an under turf as well.

Remember to achieve the best results

when top-dressing you should have

the tops of the grass exposed.

Potting MixPotting Mix is a widely used media

base in wholesale nurseries, retail

garden centres and home gardens.

Comprised blend of Composted

Fine Slash and washed river sand

giving it a very good balance of

water holding and air filled porosity

making it the ideal media for a vast

range of plant types.

Screened Soil (Sandy Loam)This soil is black in colour and sandy

in texture. It is a great soil to use

as a base in your garden. If you

are going to use it in garden beds

seek further advice from our sales

staff as to how you can increase its

performance with one of our many

fertilisers/organic matters.

Mushi CompostTo use as a soil conditioner apply to

a depth of approximately 100mm

and then dig into the soil to a

depth of 200-250mm. This will add

organic matter to clay, sandy and/or

tired soils to improve nutrient levels,

water holding ability, air porosity.

Some of the benefits of using mushi

compost promotes stronger growth

rates, encourages micro-organisms,

improves worm populations in the

soil, improves water holding in

sandy soils, improves air porosity &

water movement through the soil,

provides organic nutrients and can

significantly reduce the watering

requirement of gardens.

Your recycle wheelie bin is good for shifting mulch or bark and is approximately a quarter of a cubic metre (.25m3).

Calculating Area

Bedding Sand (Medium River)One of our most popular industry sands, tradesmen travel from far and wide to access this particular sand. The TLS bedding sand has no silt content so when used under pavers, as a bedding under tiles, or around pipes, whether it is wet or dry it will hold its profile.

Pit SandThis is a washed sand, also known as fine sand or sharp sand, that can be used for mortar for besser blocks, or when mixed with loam is ideal for brickies mortar. It is also widely used for rendering.

Plaster SandThis originates from the Gold Coast area that is well known to provide a pure sand (with no pebbles) that is ideal for rendering or bagging.

White SandThe whitest sand you will ever find. Ideal for usage in sand pits or use for white mortar (though will need to be fattened up with lime). When used in sand pits it is a very clean sand so it won’t stain clothes, though it is a very fine sand.

Brickies LoamThis ‘fatty’ sand is used widely by bricklayers for mortar. This can be blended with pit sand depending on your preference. This sand is too dirty for use in sand pits.

Concrete BlendA traditional blend of sand and gravel pre-mixed which requires the addition of cement to make concrete. The 10mm is proving to be very popular as it is a lot easier to shovel.
