Countering Violent Extremism (CVE)/Community Engagement Conference
November 18-19, 2014
Prevention ol Violent Extremism: Foreign Fighters at Home and Abroad
Welcome to the 2014 CVE/ Community Engagement Conference hosted by the Notional Counterterrorism Center. Day l w ill address Foreign Fighter Recruitment and Flow: Domestic and lntemationallmpacts and Strategies, and Day 2 wil l address USG, Foreign Partner, and Community CVE Strategies . Throughout the conference p art icipants will be m ked to focus on innovative and crealive solutions to the problems of foreign fighters as they relate to everything from community engagement and grass roots efforts to socia l med ia and other technological solutions.
This two-day conference w il l be held at the UNCLASSIFIED level. It will feature rema rks from keynote speakers and a series of panel discussions with some of the notion's leading practitioners, commentators, and scholars from the CVE community.
This conference provides on opportunity for CVE/ community engagement p ractitioners to (1) network; (2) share
information and best practices; and (3) identify areas for collaboration on the CVE mission set. Participants
represent the broadest range of our community of interest, including civil rights professionals; military personnel;
researchers and academics; policy makers, and community outreach and engagement specialists.
The conference will toke place at the MITRE 1 Conference Center Auditorium at 7525 Colshire Drive Mclean, Virginia 22102. Once you arrive at the MITRE facility, follow the signs to MITRE 1. You may park on either the East or West side of the building. Please enter the build ing through South lobby Entrance at the back of the building and check in at the Conference Center reception desk.
