HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A PRESS CONNECTION?Pressing
connection takes 7 seconds, 5x faster than other pipe joining
methods and creates strong reliable joints.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF A PIPE JOINT HAS BEEN PROPERLY
PRESSED?Visually inspect the joint to ensure the tube has remained
fully inserted. The visible insertion mark made by the installer
prior to installation allows for visual verification that the pipe
has been fully inserted for proper installation
RIDGID Pressing TechnologyRIDGID is the world’s technology
leader for pressing equipment, making the high-performance RIDGID
tools that drive the speed and reliability of pressed Copper,
Stainless Steel and PEX tubing connections.
WHAT IS PRESS FITTING TECHNOLOGY?Press fitting technology is a
mechanical, solder-less method of tube joining. No torches or
solvents are required to make the permanent water-tight or
gas-tight seal.
WHAT KIND OF FITTINGS CAN BE USED FOR PRESSING? Press fitting
can be copper, stainless steel or PEX. Inside each fitting is an
Elastomeric O-ring. When the fittings are pressed together with
tubing or piping, these sealing elements are closed inside the
fitting. Colored dots are also marked on the fittings to identify
the application it can be used.

Preparing the Connection
CUT TO LENGTHCut the tube to desired length. using a tube
cutter.
INSTALLATIONREFERENCE
1DEBURR TUBEDeburr the outside and inside of the tube to avoid
damaging the O-ring. Make sure that the tube end is smooth and
clean.
2MARK THE INSERTION DEPTHDepth of insertion must be marked on
the tube prior to inserting the tube into the fitting. Marking
insertion depth will ensure that any tube movement is detected.
3 4INSPECT THE FITTINGExamine the fitting to be used to ensure
the sealing gasket is properly positioned and is not damaged.
5JOIN THE TUBE & FITTINGPush turning slightly the tube into
the press fitting. The tube must be inserted into the fitting up to
the tube stop.
6SELECT PRESS TOOLSelect the correct press tool and jaw to suit
the fitting dimension and application pressures.
7PRESS THE JOINOpen the press tool jaw, align with the press
fitting and start the press tool to begin the compression
cycle.
8VERIFY THE CONNECTIONVisually inspect the pressed fitting &
that the insertion mark is aligned with the end of the socket.

center where the service technicians were trained from RIDGID

cycles, detect faults in the component of the tools and etc.
2. Filling Station - provide oil replacement
3. Pressure Testing Station - conduct pressure test of the tool
to comply with the standard specifications
4. Computerized Test Report - printing of test report after tool
