MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA at Interior Mebel Kiev 2014

The Spanish furniture industry has started the new year in grand style,

participating at major events (Imm Cologne, Maison & Objet, the Stockholm

Furniture Fair, Ismob, Feria Habitat Valencia...), while other important

exhibitions are scheduled throughout the rest of the year. It responds to a new

politics of differentiation of markets and to a new promotion plan that aims to

bring MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA nearer to its main targets, as the Ukrainian interior

design sector.

The growing Spain’s furniture exports to Ukraine and many of the CSI countries

has convinced a group of 5 furniture leading companies and 6 lighting brands

to take part in a collective participation at Interior Mebel Kiev, which will be

held in February 19 to 22.

Spain will put on showcase in halls 2 and 3 a selection of exclusive classic haute

décor, contemporary classic furnishing proposals, refined lighting and oil

paintings.

versatile seating made up of a group of modules that can be arranged in many

different ways to adjust different spaces and needs. The new version

incorporates a keypad and an electrical mechanism that allow to easily change

the position of seats and backs.

evolution of the chair with the same name, features pure lines and an apparent

simplicity that made it suitable for both classic and contemporary spaces.

A positive balance

What a great start of the year for Spanish furniture companies! After a successful participation

in Imm Cologne, Maison & Objet, the Stockholm Furniture Fair and the Hábitat Valencia, they

will be exhibiting in group in Kiev. But the travel around the world of our brands doesn’t stop

here. A lot of B2B and trade missions are scheduled on their agendas (Ghana, the Ivory Coast,

Angola, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, China, Peru, Panamá, Russia…) as well as the participation in

other major events: I Saloni Milano, Index Dubai, Maison & Objet Singapore, Furniture China

in Shanghai… Main target: conquer new markets and bring the excellence of MUEBLE DE

ESPAÑA all over the world. Figures are encouraging, as you can see…

Preliminary figures for 2013 indicate that Spain’s exports of furniture have increased by

+14.3% over the last year’s figures, amounting to 1,476 million euros at the end of

November.

Rich in styles and ranges and with a unique emotional approach, Furniture from Spain has

consolidated its presence in four UE countries: France, Portugal, Germany and the United

Kingdom, which rank 1st to 4th among Spain’s major markets.


A positive balance

Sales have increased significantly in all the other top ten importers with the exception of

Italy. Exports to the United Kingdom increased by an impressive +36%, while sales to Russia

were up by +34.6% and to the Netherlands by +99.1%.

Spanish exports to Eastern European countries are improving, with Russia leading the

ranking of Spain’s main Eastern clients for furnishing products. Poland earned the 16th

position in the ranking, with imports of Spanish furniture growing by 0.7% to 13.6 million

euros, while the Czech market ranks now 24th, registering a +71.1% increase and totalling

8.3 million euros.

At the end of the period January-November 2013, exports to Ukraine amounted to 3.7

million euros, showing a growth of +1.66%.
