1 Press Release (For immediate release) The Greatest Malaysian TV Awards Ceremony Astro On Demand Awards 2012Kenneth Ma and Tavia Yeung were crowned the favourite Actor and Actress (Hong Kong 2 December 2012) Co-organised by TVB and Astro in Malaysia, MY FM as the official radio station, Astro On Demand Awards 2012, the grand international TV industry, was successfully concluded at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia tonight (2 December). The Hippocratic Crush, a TVB modern drama, earned the highest votes among the Malaysian audiences for the award of My Favourite Drama Series. Red-hot artistes Kenneth Ma and Tavia Yeung, with their marvellous plays in the drama, were crowned My Favourite Actor in A Leading Roleand My Favourite Actress in A Leading Rolerespectively. Since 2010, TVB and Astro have jointly organised Astro On Demand Awards which have earned high recognitions in town. This year, the results were not only determined by export panels, but also by the online votes from the audiences. Astro subscribers casted votes for their favourite artistes and dramas during 25 October to 18 November. After 3 weeks of voting campaign, 26 awards in 12 categories were presented tonight (please refer to the awardees list for details). The award ceremony was celebrity-packed with the attendance of numerous outstanding TVB artistes, namely Kwok Chun On, Raymond Lam, Kevin Cheng, Moses Chan, Tavia Yeung, Kate Tsui, Wayne Lai, Myolie Wu, Michael Tse, Ron Ng, Nancy Wu, Oscar Leung, Him Law, Mandy Wong and Ku Ming Wah. With a round of applause, the artistes showed up on stage after the spectacular opening performance. Mr Peter Au, Assistant General Manager of TVB; Mr Sherman Lee, Controller of International Business Division of TVBI and Mr Choo Chi Han, Vice President of Astro Chinese Customer Business, were invited as award presenters. And, Ms Virginia Lok, Controller of Production Resources Division of TVB, was also invited as the guest. Produced by executive producer Poon Ka Tak, The Hippocratic Crush, which has won excellent reception in Malaysia, was awarded My Favourite Drama Series. Tavia Yeung, with her role as Fan Tze Yu inside the drama, was crowned My Favourite Actress in A Leading Roleproving her a great progress in acting. Kenneth Ma also garnered My Favourite Actor in A Leading Roleby his role as a calm and smart doctor Cheung Yat Kin. Their romantic love story also touched the nerves of audiences. Both altogether bagged four awards including My Favourite On Screen Couplesand My Favourite Drama Character. The Greatest Malaysian TV Awards Ceremony

“Astro On Demand Awards 2012”

Kenneth Ma and Tavia Yeung were crowned the favourite Actor and Actress

(Hong Kong – 2 December 2012) Co-organised by TVB and Astro in Malaysia, MY FM as the

official radio station, Astro On Demand Awards 2012, the grand international TV industry, was

On the other hand, Nancy Wu’s refreshing performance as a boxing master in Gloves Come Off has

brought her with “My Favourite Actress in a Supporting Role”. And Him Law portraying a doctor for

his first time in The Hippocratic Crush, has won the award “My Favourite Actor in a Supporting

Role” and “My Favourite Drama Character”. As for the “My Favourite Promising Actor and Actress”,

the awardees were Oscar Leung and Mandy Wong respectively with their outstanding plays in

“L’Escargot. As this was their first time to receive drama award, they both express greatest gratitude

and touched by the recognition from the audiences. And Raymond Lam bagged “My Favourite

Drama Song” with the song in Highs And Lows, in which his role Wai Sai Lok also brought him with

“My Favourite Drama Character”.

Michael Tse has received a worldwide recognition by his role Laughing in E.U.. and his popularity

brought about a number of movies and dramas with the theme of undercover. He successfully won

the award of “My Favourite Classic Character” while his role in Sergeant Tabloid, which first-run in

Astro On Demand, was awarded “My Favourite Drama Character”. The popular role So Kei in Divas

In Distress, performed by Ku Ming Wah, has earned the recognition in Malaysia and was awarded

“My Favourite Outstanding Character”. He was excited and expressed greatest appreciation to the

support of fans in Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Other winners of “My Favourite Top 15 Drama Characters” award include Kwok Chun On (Emperor

Suen , Queens of Diamonds And Hearts), Kevin Cheng (Tong Shap Yat, Gloves Come Off), Moses

Chan (Cheung Sai Yin, Master Of Play), Kate Tsui (Chan Ka Pik, High And Lows), Wayne Lai (Li

Lian Ying, The Confidant), Myolie Wu (Wong Sz Fu, Ghetto Justice II), Bosco Wong (Hui Wai Sum,

Witness Insecurity), Linda Chung (Kiu Chi Lam, Witness Insecurity), Ron Ng (Ting Koon Fung,

L’Escargot) and Ruco Chan (Mo Nga Lik, No Good Either Way).

Awardees will attend the Astro On Demand Awards 2012 Press Conference at Regal Airport Hotel

at 2:30p.m tomorrow (3 December). On the occasion, the newly-crowned Malaysian favourite actor

and actress and all awardees will express appreciations and share their delight moments with fans in

Hong Kong!
