mozaiq interface connects Busch-Jaeger with other products and services

Busch-Jaeger uses the open software platform mozaiq in order to network its smart home system with other products and services. This expands the previously available range of individual home automation solutions by establishing cross-device compatibility, while existing programming interfaces (APIs) are used to enable fast, seamless connection to the various systems.

One example of a system that can be integrated in this way is Tunstall’s emergency call service, which has been the subject of a study. This system from the world’s leading provider of telehealthcare and communications solutions supports connection to ABB-free@home®. Designed with elderly users and individuals who require care in mind, the emergency call service system is installed in the resident/user’s home to provide a connection to an emergency call centre and the service provider’s service centre. use the ABB REACT energy storage system (Renewable Energy Accumulator and Conversion Technology) to store surplus energy captured by their solar panels during peak periods to be used at other times. The innovative photovoltaic inverter connects directly with the system access point, which serves as the core of the ABB-free@home® system.

Data from the connected REACT system, such as storage status, is automatically displayed via the familiar ABB-free@home® user interface which features an intuitive menu that, under its ‘Actions’ menu, allows users to intelligently connect it to various smart home processes. Amongst other things, this smart usage enables users to optimise their energy consumption.

Gardens, lights, home entertainment – well established partnerships offer incredible diversity

The partnership between Busch-Jaeger and Gardena, one of the foremost gardening providers and European market leader in watering systems, opens up a world of fascinating opportunities for home botany. Through their cooperation, the companies are able to offer discerning users innovative, time-saving solutions for the perfect garden experience: by using the Busch-ComfortTouch®, they can control their own patch of paradise simply and conveniently from the comfort of their home. Busch-Jaeger and Gardena have made the watering of lawns and the coordination of stunning garden lighting simpler and more user-friendly than ever before. New horizons for the control of garden technology have been reached through the brands’ cooperation and the integration with KNX building control.

Busch-Jaeger and Philips came together with the aim of using innovative technological developments to advance the field of lighting control, with a particular emphasis on smart homes, and to offer both private and commercial customers outstanding investment security in the area of lighting and lighting control. The focus is on finding the perfect combination of innovative Philips LED lighting sources and intelligent lighting control from Busch-Jaeger. As two market leaders, the collaboration does not just allow the companies to offer incredible design possibilities; they can also offer perfect technical solutions and intuitive operation to create that ‘light bulb moment’ in smart homes. Philips hue light bulbs can be integrated into ABB-free@home® scenes, controlled using either a ABB-free@home® sensor or a timer programme. Plus, convenient operation via the Busch-ComfortTouch® becomes possible when used in conjunction with a KNX system.

Strong partnerships broaden Busch-Jaeger’s portfolio

The cooperation between Busch-Jaeger and Bang&Olufsen – the manufacturers of high-end compo-nents for consumer electronics – is delivering unprecedented heights in home comfort and conveni-ence. A touch of a button on the Bang&Olufsen remote control can, for example, turn a night in front of the TV into a stunning home cinema experience, with the lights dimming and blinds closing as the opening scene of your favourite film appears on screen. Technology in other sections of the home can also be controlled and accessed from the sofa in the same way – from adjusting the room tempera-ture to monitoring error messages and alarms. Moreover, Busch-Jaeger also allows users to integrate the Sonos sound system into their KNX control system.

By collaborating with premium kitchen appliance brand Miele, Busch-Jaeger has ensured that the kitchen, too, can be integrated as a living space into the building technology of an intelligent home.
