PRESS MEET - 2017 : CYBERABAD

Cyberabad police conducted Annual press meet -2017 today at Cyberabad police commissionerate main conference hall.

Cyberabad Commissionerate consists of urban and rural areas part of Ranga Reddy, Medchal, Sanga Reddy and Hyderabad Districts covering an area of about 3,644 Sq.Km with population of about 42.00 Lakh in 26 Revenue Mandals (495 villages). At present we have 2533 civil force and 560 AR force. Population and Police ratio in India 729 and in Cyberabad 1400. Police per lakh population in India is 181 and in Cyberabad is 71.

There are 17 Police Stations/Divisions of Law & Order and Traffic were added to the Commissionerate after districts reorganization. This Commissionerate was divided into 3 Law & Order Zones, 9 Law & Order divisions and 36 Police Stations; 3 Traffic Divisions and 11 Traffic Police Stations; 3 CCS, 1 WPS and 1 Cyber Crimes Police Station.

There are about 700 IT MNCs/National Institutions situated in Gachibowli,

Madhapur and surrounding areas and also emerged as center of developmental excellence which is giving new image to Cyberabad and the New State of Telangana. Moreover, about 6,800 Major and minor Industries, public sector companies like H.A.L, BHEL, etc. companies are showcasing the importance of this Commissionerate Shilpakalavedika, Shilparamam, HICC, HITEX are emerging as major tourist spots/exhibition/assembling centers. There are 7 Universities i.e. Hyderabad Central University (HCU), Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Moulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKITSHU) and Sri P.V.Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNTVU) in Cyberabad area.

Esteemed National and State level Institutes and training centers viz.,

Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy, TS Police Academy, N.I.R.D, N.R.S.A., Air Force Academy, Air force Station, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Apparel Park are located in the Commissionerate.

Some of the distinguished higher educational institutions are Hyderabad

Central University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Open University, Prof. Jaya Shankar Agricultural University, NALSAR University of Law & BITS PILANI, Moulana Azad Urdu National University, IIIT and ISB along with 65 Engineering Colleges 3 Medical Colleges are located and besides this 274 Women Hostels are in the limits of this Commissionerate.

The Green field Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is located in

Shamshabad Zone. About 51000 persons arrives/departs the Airport every day and about 14300 vehicles on average come to the Airport every day to drop and pick up the passengers. About 206 Flights land and take-off from the Airport daily.

Three International standard Stadiums viz. 1) G.M.C. Balayogi Stadium,

2) Hockey Stadium and 3) Hyderabad Central University Stadium.

FAIRS & FESTIVALS:

Festivals like Bonalu, Ganesh Chaturthi, Sri Rama Navami, Hanuman Jayanthi,

Dussehra, Diwali, Ramzan, Bakrid, Moharrum, Milad-un-nabi, etc., passed off

peacefully.

Total 13 events/fairs in Gachibowli, 10 in HICC, 3 in Hitex, 2 in Shilpa Kala Vedika and 3 in other places of Cyberabad Commissionerate. VVIP/VIP VISITS:

There are total 9 – VVIP visits viz. President of India, Vice President of India and Prime Minister of India; 385 – VIP visits viz. Governor, C.M. of Telangana, C.M. of A.P. and others in Cyberabad limits. About 1197 escorts/pilots were arranged during the visits of VVIPs/VIPs.

SPECIAL BRANCH

During the year 2870 job verification reports issued and about 66624 Passport applications cleared. Antecedents of employees/volunteers 4705 were verified in view of Global Entrepreneurs Summit 2017.

TRAINING:

Armed IT corridor patrolling have been revamped after establishment of the Tactical Wing. All staff has to undergo 12 hours X 6 days intensive training in Police Tactics, this training is being imparted by experts from Greyhounds, Octopus, ISW with who helped in designed a 6 day training modules. This training was extended to 10000 SCT PCs and the training has been completed.

CYBERABAD TRAINING CENTRE (CTC)

Training of 245 SCTPCs (AR) of 2nd batch has been commenced from 1st June, 2017. Apart from regular training, they are also being imparted intensive training in Police Tactics by experts from Greyhounds, Octopus, ISW. SHE TEAMS During the year, SHE teams conducted

180 awareness programs where 69,840 people were addressed. 336 decoy operations. 11 counseling sessions where 288 respondents attended out of which 10

were minors. Total 320 cases reported during the year out of which 168 cases were

registered and remaining are under petty cases. Total 764 petitions received through direct calls and other social media like

Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

VISHWAS SUPPORT CENTRE

Vishwas Support Centre was inaugurated on 20.11.2017 at Kondapur Government Area Hospital coordinated with the city based NGO, Helping Hand Foundation for helping children sexual abuse. Main reasons for introducing the Vishwas Support Centre are

If the child requires emergency medical care, child is to be taken directly for

medical examination at Area Hospital, Kondapur. Medical examination of the child to be conducted by a woman doctor.

After medical examination of the child will be taken to VISHWAS support centre for counseling at Area Hospital, Kondapur.

Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to determine whether the child needs institutionalized care and protection

The staff of child care institutions is often the first contact point for the child who rescued and placed in institutional care for rescue and rehabilitation

FLOODS:

Shadnagar Police have saved the life of a bus driver namely Shekar Goud, aged 30 years who accidentally fell into the flowing stream of Nagulapally Lake in the midnight around 0030 hrs.

SOCIETY FOR CYBERABAD SECURITY COUNCIL (SCSC):

SCSC has organized several Women’s Safety Awareness session in several organizations in the IT corridor and also launched Margadarshak Program to provide resources to women in to confront domestic problems of woman. It has contributed having Security Awareness Sessions, Security preparedness and Security Audits in collaboration with BCI Forum. SCSC serves the community with a current traffic volunteers manning the Cyberabad traffic at regular intervals. Other activities are running She Shuttles for the women employees, Cab Registration and Stickering, and conducting Road Safety Awareness programs for employees and Cab driver sensitization programs. Forum focuses on hacking prevention, incident handling, forensics and post-event public relations with presentations delivered by nationally recognized experts.

Apart from citizen friendly police, Cyberabad police started a system of citizen response of feedback centre in the month of June-2017. This system have four seater call centre taking the feedback directly through telephonic communication from all citizens who availed the police services.

FAMILY COUNSELING CENTRES

Total 5 Counseling Centres viz. Raidurgam, Miyapur, Kukatpally, Balanagar and Rajendranagar established in Cyberabad to counsel the family members over family disputes. About 454 families have been reunited during the counseling. ERP REPORTS (ENTERPRISE APPLICATION)

Enterprise application viz. ERP has been introduced in Cyberabad through which weekly performances of SHOs and SIs will be taken based on various parameters/criteria viz. vehicle checking, NBW disposal, enforcement, petty cases, charge sheet/FR, arrested persons, history sheet, CCTNS entries, court disposal, FSL report, PME report, 41 (A) Cr.P.C. served, anticipatory bail, etc. SENSATIONAL CASES

1. Cyberabad and Sangareddy Police cracked the sensational and mysterious murder case of Miss Chandini Jain within a short period of (3) days and apprehended the Child in conflict with law (CCL) who is aged about 17 years and r/o Pragathi Enclave, Miyapur, an intermediate student.

2. Muthoot Finance Dacoity in R.C. Puram (Total 4 cases detected): Cyberabad police arrested 1) Lakshman Narayan Mudhang, 2) Ganesh Pandurang Bhonsle@ Patil, 3) Murugan Subramanyam Purjari @ Subhash Subramanyam Pujari and 7 others, an inter-state dacoity gang who committed dacoity in Muthoot finance RC Puram and snatched 41.8 Kgs of Gold and recovered 4Kgs of Gold, one pistol, (4) four wheelers and one bike from their possession. This gang was arrested within 15 days after making rigorous efforts made by Cyberabad police. Earlier they involved similar type of offences in Muthoot finance in Gulbarga, Jhalna, R.C.Puram and KPHB. This is a notorious gang operating in Telangana, Karnataka, Maharastra and Gujarat. This gang members involved in number of cases in Maharastra and they were convicted in several cases and lodged in Errawada Jail, Pune, Arthur road Jail, Thane Jail and Nasik Jail of Maharastra.

3. A gang were attempted to commit theft at Muthoot finance of Mailardavepally. They were arrested within 3 weeks and recovered Tavera vehicle TS-12-EB-5177, (2) knives, (1) Iron rod, (4) Cell Phones, (2) improvised pistols along with live (15) cartridges.

4. A Potential House Breaking offender Karni Mallikarjun @ Malli @ Malakondaiah

(26 yrs) r/o Prajay city Miyapur was nabbed by Chandanagar Police and detected (5) cases and recovered 850 grams of gold W/Rs.20 lakhs. PD Act also initiated against him.

5. CCS Madhapur Police arrested (2) accused persons GanshyamBalveer Singh @ Ballu, 23 yrs, and Sagar Londhe, 21 Yrs, both student and r/o Kachiguda, Hyd and detected 7 cases and recovered gold ornaments W/Rs. 23 Lakhs.

6. Kukatpally police detected the case of theft of 3.5 kgs gold ornaments bag committed by Peru/Nigerian gang of (10) members.

Moinabad Police apprehended the illegal gutka lorry transporting from Hyderabad to Pune and other states. So far (03) cases vide Cr.No.311/2017, 345/2017 and 417/2017 are registered pertaining to illegal gutka transportation. Total 3 lorry loads of gutka all worth Rs.2.5 crores seized in the above three cases.

Medchal Police detected a dacoity case and arrested the accused A1 Malligari Santhosh Kumar and 9 others, who are the employees of Bharath Petrol bunk at Yellampet, Medchal, and recovered an amount of Rs.4 Lakhs from them.

Charge Sheet filed in the case of land scam of 814 acres Government land at Miyapur village, which was registered by M/s Trinity Infra Ventures Limited and Suvishal Power Gen limited fraudulently in collusion with Sub Registrar, Kukatpally.

Balanagar Police arrested the accused Mohd. Yousuf, Sub Registrar, Balanagar and two others in a land scam case of Miyapur village.

MURDER CASES:

Total 110 Murder cases reported in 2015, 104 in 2016 and 58 in 2017. There is 45% of reduction in murders over 2016.

Cyberabad and Sangareddy Police cracked the sensational and mysterious

murder case of Miss Chandini Jain within a short period of (3) days and apprehended the Juvenile in conflict with law (JCL) who is aged about 17 years an intermediate student, r/o Pragathi Enclave, Miyapur.

Sanathnagar police detected a sensational Murder case of Vallabhu Srinivas Rao n/o West Godavari occurred at Sanathnagar bus stand on 26.11.2017, by elevated clues through local information system and arrested six accused within span of ‘4’ days and sent them to judicial custody.

Mailardevpally Police detected the case within 4 days by put sincere efforts and detected the mystery of a gruesome rape, robbery and murder of one Smt. Fathima Begum by arresting the (3) accused persons.

Rajendernagar Police detected a sensational murder case of priest Sherkane Narsing, aged 40 yrs, Eedamma temple, Upperpally and arrested the accused Sonamala Naresh within a week.

KIDNAPPING:

Medchal Police traced the boy of Nagarjuna School within 24 hours, arrested the kidnappers and restored the boy to his parents. This got appreciation by media & public.

Kukatpally Police traced a 4 years girl Ambika kidnapped by Komera Nagaraju (33 yrs) of Guntur dist. A.P. within 36 hrs of case reported and restored the baby to his parents.

Traced the missing girl Kum. Poornima Sai (15) studing 10th class at Bhashyam School, Nizampet (Bachupally PS) at Mumbai by forming (16), teams and handed over to her parents.

SNATCHING CASES:

Total 150 cases reported in 2015, 146 in 2016 and 86 in 2017. There is reduction of 41% in Snatchings over 2016.

Keshampet Police have busted a notorious robbery gang of (3) members by

detecting 13 cases of robberies within a period of fortnight in rural areas and

recovered intact property of 450 grams gold ornaments (15 nuptial threads) of worth Rs 13 lakhs.

The CCS Madhapur caught the notorious accused/snatcher Gaddapulam Vijay Kumar Chowdary @ Omer 22 yrs of Karnataka state who involved in (10) cases, recovered 10 tulas gold ornaments W/Rs. 2,40,000/-.

Kukatpally Police arrested lady pick pocket gang of 3 persons who are committing theft of jewellery by opening the bag zip from the passengers in RTC bus and recovered (20) tulas gold ornaments and sent to judicial remand.

DACOITY CASES.

KPHB police arrested the dacoity gang consisting of 7 accused persons who targeted brothel houses and extorted money from the organizers and pimps.

Miyapur Police arrested 5 persons of dacoity gang within 3 days of occurrence of offence. The accused persons also involved in 4 robbery cases of KPHB and Bachupally PSs.

HOUSE BURGLARY (HB) CASES:

Total 740 HB cases reported in 2015, 609 in 2016 and 740 in 2017. There is an increase of 21% HBs over 2016.

Sanathnagar Police arrested (3) HB offenders including a lady and recovered 32 tulas of gold ornaments and remanded them to judicial custody.

In a case of attempt to commit theft at Muthoot finance, Mailardavepally, a

Mailardevpally police arrested the accused Mohd Saleem @ Sunil Shetty, 44yrs, r/o Kalapathar, Hyderabad who involved in 13 cases and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs.14,83,250/-.

The CCTV images are very helpful for crime prevention and 60% of the cases detected with the help of CCTV images.

During the current year so far 24250 cases reported of them 3778 are property Crime and there is 31% increase of crime when compared to last year.

THEFT CASES

Rajendranagar Police and CCS staff have arrested 1) Sugreev Manik Rao Somwanshi, 32 yrs., 2) Srinivas Goud, Narsimha Goud, 35 yrs, 3) P. Pradeep Reddy, 35 yrs and 4) Mohd. Areef, 32 yrs in a automobile theft case in Cr.No.340/2017 u/s. 379, 420, 411 IPC of Rajendranagar PS and recovered the property worth Rs.40.00 lakhs.

Kothur Police arrested Rasula Mahesh, 25 years and 5 others in Laptops theft case in Cr.No.48/2017 U/s 380, 381 r/w 34 IPC of Kothur PS and recovered property worth Rs.18.00 lakhs.

Shamshabad Police and CCS staff have arrested Syed Iqbal, 45 years and 6 others in automobile theft case in Cr.No.91/2017 u/s 379 IPC of Shamshabad PS and property worth Rs.1.50 Cr.

CCS Shamshabad staff and Shamshabad Police have also arrested Mohd Althaf, 24 yrs., r/o Moingunj, Hyderabad and 7 others who involved in 32 cattle theft cases and recovered property worth Rs.21.9 Lakhs.

Police KPHB arrested Parasaram and Laxman Ram who involved in 2 cases of KPHB PS and 1 case of Gopalapuram PS and recovered two gold chains wg.5.5. tulas, one Motor cycle and two cell phones.

During the year so far, the property lost is Rs.18,70,53,823/-. Recovery is Rs.8,17,08,646/- and recovery percentage is 44%. CONTROL OF GAMBLING & SOCIAL EVILS:

During the year so far 184 Gambling cases were registered in which 1089 persons were arrested. But seized is 46.86 Lakhs.

78 cases under PITA Act were registered 232 persons including 73 organizers

were arrested and 190 ladies rescued.

72 Job racket cases reported during the year. CYBER CRIMES Nigerian Fraud: 1. Arrested Michael Igumbor @ Dr. James Peter @ Dr. Craig (32 yrs) r/o Agbor,

Benin, Nigeria for cheating to a tune of Rs.2.1 lakhs in the guise of exporting Arborna Natural Seeds.

2. Accused Ikechukuwu Okoro, 28 years, R/o Navi Mumbai, N/o Ikoyi Lagos,

Nigeria was arrested for Cheating to a tune of Rs.1,42,600/- on the pretext of supplying Alotic wild nuts to a Pharmaceutical company named as Phylorzeric Pharmaceutical limited, UK

3. Arrested the accused 1) Gauza Aristide 2) Omeke Eric Tochukwu &

3) Okwereaku Tochukwu of Nigeria Nationals and 4) Anand Nagesia of West Bengal for cheating the complainant by informing that he won the SAMSUNG COMPANY LOTTERY WINNING PRIZE of Rs.4.5 Crores and lured him of Rs.21,95,000/- in the name of claim of lottery amount.

Matrimonial Frauds 1. Arrested two Nigerian fraudsters 1) Kingsley Uche Anesodo and 2) Clement

Idahosa for uploading fake profile in Shaadi.com website and lured 10,200/- USD for an amount of Rs.6,51,000/- INR from the victim.

2. One online matrimony fraudster Srinivas Kiran Babu Poonati @ Karthik Kommineni @ Ravindra was arrested for cheating to the tune of Rs. 20 lakhs from girls/women through Telugu matrimonial sites.

JOB Frauds 1. Arrested Peddy Sridhar Reddy @ Kandukuru Vamshi Krishna and 2 others for

opening abroad consultancies on various names, engaged A2 and A3 as telecallers and cheated to a tune Rs.37 lakhs from the victims on the pretext of job offers/placements at Canada.

2. The accused persons Rahul Kaurav and Arjun Singh of New Delhi were arrested for cheating an amount of Rs. 1,84,000/- for providing job in Indigo Airlines.

Visa Fraud 1. The accused Krishna Choudhary @ Krishna Kumar @ Krishnamurthy and

Rohtash Pal of Ghaziabad, UP were arrested for cheating an amount of Rs.3,59,000/- on the pretext of providing Singapore Visa.

Phishing Case:-

1. The accused Thota Balaji Naidu@ Naidu @ Manohar @ Laxman Mahesh was arrested for making frequent phishing calls to the victim and cheated to a tune of Rs.10 lakhs.

2. Busted the Delhi based Ware Housing/Mobile Tower Installation gang and arrested Mohd Junaid Alam and 3 others for collecting huge amounts of money and cheating them in the name of installing Cellphone Towers and Warehousing Godowns to a tune of several Crores of rupees through out of India.

During the year, total 237 cases reporting in Cyber Crimes PS and 83 accused

were arrested in various cases

OTHER CASES:

Major crackdown by Cyberabad Police on Sex Racket and Illegal activities of (12) SPAs and Massage Parlours. These centres have been indulging in women trafficking by procuring girls from Thailand, North Eastern states and some local girls for flesh trade and other sexual services and virtually running them as brothel houses under the guise of massage or spa parlors by collecting heavy amounts from customers. (35) accused persons including (5) ladies were arrested.

The accused persons N.Shashidar Reddy and Baswa Jaganadham have created Sun Rise Tours and Consultancy to provide jobs, collected 2.5 Crores amount from various candidates and close down the business fled away. They were arrested by Sanath nagr Police and recovered Rs. 1,65,15,000/- and handed over to the victims through Court.

GOOD WORK DONE BY TRAFFIC POLICE, CYBERABAD

During the year so far, 19 lakhs MV Act cases were booked for various violations of Traffic rules and an amount of Rs.96.32 Crores was compounded and collected Rs.30.21 Crores. Apart from the above 12,837 Drunk & Drive cases were booked and an amount of Rs.1.13 Crores was compounded. A total of 3212 persons were convicted by the Hon’ble court. With regard to secure the safety of I.T. women employees, so far, 14k new CABs were registered and 13k were renewed. Total CABs registration are 78k. In 2015, total 873 fatal road accidents reported of which 913 people died. Out of the 873 fatal accidents, 33 occurred on ORR of which 41 people are died. In 2016, total 824 fatal road accidents reported of which 873 people died. Out of the 824 fatal accidents, 37 occurred on ORR of which 42 people are died. In 2017, total 685 fatal road accidents reported of which 738 people died. Out of the 685 fatal accidents, 28 occurred on ORR of which 31 people are died. On ORR, the over speed is controlled by installing speed laser guns. In the month of May 2017, six ORR patrol mobiles were launched to patrol round the clock to reduce the number of accident deaths and to maintain free flow of traffic. Since then, the accident rate has come down significantly.

During the monsoon season, many roads were completely inundated with heavy water due to heavy downpour and the drains were completely flooded. The traffic police participated in rescue operations and ensured free flow of traffic without causing any inconvenience to general public at large and IT employees in specific.

GES 2017: During the GES summit held at HICC Madhapur from 28.11.2017 to 30.11.2017, the Traffic Management was efficiently conducted for the visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Ms. Ivanka Trump, Hon’ble Governor and CM of Telangana State along with Union and State Cabinet Ministers apart from 3000 to 3500 delegates of various countries. During the Current year in the Cyberabad Commissionerate total 2631 cases disposed in the court out of which 786 cases were convicted and 104 cases are acquitted. Overall conviction rate is 30%.
