CODE ADN

Founded in 2013 by Dominique Alba and Philippe Diné, Code ADN is based in the Jura department of France. The company’s values of innovation in design and use rely on technology and manufacturing that are 100% Made in France.

DOMINIQUE ALBA Fol lowing a lengthy career in the eyewear industry, notably at the head of the Logo and Alain Mikli International groups, Dominique Alba currently acts as a bu-siness angel to a dozen companies.

PHILIPPE DINÉ A trained optician and former Sales Director, Europe of the Alain Mikli International group, Phi-lippe Diné is a specialist in the eyewear industry with nearly 25 years of experience in this field.

The company is certified by the European Business and Innovation Centre Novacité.

A total of 27 consumer meetings held over a 12-month period allowed for revealing expectations beyond mere aesthetics. For what men and women who wear glasses are looking for today is above all efficient and practical products.

Combining technology, design, quality and comfort, each iHUMAN creation offers features that meet a specific need.

The very first iHUMAN range, PocketSerie, was designed in a logic of downsizing, reducing size and bulk for greater convenience.

Some 50% of spectacle wearers do not need to wear their glasses all day. If we add those who regularly swap between optical frames and sunglasses, the proportion of occasional wearers reaches 75%.

For 34% of buyers, notably those who travel regularly as part of their work, minimum bulk constitutes the number 1 selection criterion. But a question remains: what do you do with your glasses when not wearing them?

It was with the aim of addressing this issue that iHUMAN created PocketSerie: the solution for minimum bulk.

PocketSerie is a high-end, functional, compact and lightweight optical frame. With a case roughly the size of a smartphone, only slightly thicker, it fits easily into your pocket.

ATo meet the many challenges imposed by a smaller size, iHUMAN developed seven patents that led to the design of PocketSerie:

• Retractable frame: for minimum bulk.

• FlexiSolid® temple technology: an alloy of copper, aluminium, beryllium, manganese and tungsten.

• Serrated pin hinges: for smoother movements and self-adjustment.

• Micrometric embedded hinges: for an extremely slim, ultra-resistant design.

• Offset temple tips: for greater comfort.

• Weight distribution technology, the weight transferred across the frame: to ensure lightness.

• Multibase bridge: for support.

More than 1,300 eyewear brands are currently distributed in France. In today’s globalized and highly competitive market, iHUMAN chose the 100% Made in France option. All elements making up the PocketSerie range were thus designed, manufactured and assembled in the Jura department:

• Front and temples in La Chaux-du-Dombief.

• Temple tips in Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux.

• Colouring and treatments in Morez.

This proximity allows iHUMAN to constantly develop its concept, adapting each stage of manufacturing to provide solutions to new constraints.
