Safety Update
• A gang of 8 people were arrested as
suspects in multiple robberies that took
place around campus and had UC
students as victims.
• The suspect for the sexual assault that
took place in Steger Student Life Center
early September was arrested.
Winter Season Days
• http://www.uc.edu/hr/winter-season-days.html.
• While you’re probably aware that UC will be closed the entire
week after classes, critical services like Public Safety, NightRide
and UCIT will run normal hours, and other services will be open
for limited hours (Parking Services, TUC Bookstore, the campus-
to-campus shuttle). BTS Shuttles will not operate!
Airport Shuttle
• There is a student-run shuttle service from UC’s Main Campus
(CRC Circle) to the Cincinnati-
Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) – free of charge, for all UC
students.
• Shuttle service is reservation-only, and will occur between
Wednesday, December 10 – Sunday, December 14th.
Spots are limited, so sign up as soon as you are certain of your
travel plans. Registration is open now and is located

Research Fellowship
• Statement of Purpose. Maximum 3 pages double-spaced, with no less
than 1″ margins and 11 pt font. If the Research Fellowship will be used
for travel, the location and dates must be mentioned here. The
Statement of Purpose should detail your research project for a non-
specialized audience. Please answer:
– Who, what, why, how, and in what time frame.
– The current status of your research. Applications must be for continuing
research.
– The relevance of your research to related fields and the contribution that
your research will add.
– Goals and future plans for the project (such as conference presentation,
publication, etc.).
– How your research will benefit the University and the UC community.
– Detailed description of how you plan to spend your Research Fellowship and
justifications for your spending plan.

• Student Code of Conduct The Division of Student Affairs is
conducting a rewrite of the Student Code of Conduct and by
board rules, two representatives from GSGA serve on this review
committee. Anybody interested? Let me know!
• Thanksgiving Dinner: Our annual Thanksgiving dinner is
approaching. It will be held on Tuesday, November 26 at 6pm in
Great Hall at Tangeman University Center. RSVP required.

• Honorary Degrees (to be given at December commencement
exercises) – Bob Herbold (former P&G executive, former COO Microsoft)
– Dean Kereiakes, M.D. (world renowned cardiologist and founder of Ohio Heart)
– Amb. Andrew Young (former US Ambassador to the United Nations, former Mayor of Atlanta,
civil rights activist)
