President’s Message 2017
Daphne Schroth
Jan. Feb. March 2017
President’s Message
Happy New Year Dixie Watercolor Artists! I hope you are looking forward to all of the exciting events
scheduled for the Dixie Watercolor Society in 2017. There is something for everyone whether you are a
budding watercolorist just beginning to put the paint on the paper or an experienced professional in the field.
The DWS events in 2017 include monthly meetings/presentations/demos the last Thursday of every month
(excluding June, July and August) at the Electric Theater. Also, there are a myriad of workshops, two show
and competitions, critique groups, Plein Air painting experiences and the quarterly exhibits at Gallery 35.
Watch for the DWS newsletter, via email, published and edited by Deena Millecam, three times a year for all
of the up and coming events. Check out our Facebook Page or our website (dixiewatercolorsociety.com) to
keep current with all of our activities. There truly is something for everyone!
A few of the highlights for the next three months include:

DWS November Meeting
Painting by Alicia Finlayson who demonstrated for
DWS. (This is another one of her paintings. Not the
one she did but what an inspiring artist!)
Words from Karen: “So happy to share my
expressions of happiness through my watercolors.
The Sears/ Dixie Invitational this Spring was such a
highlight!
I was a Professional Interior Designer out of Salt
Lake City and Las Vegas for 27 years. I retired in
1988. I ran away from home to pursue a career as
an artist. It has been a wonderful adventure.”
