ITINERARY (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)Day 1 - Depart the USA: Depart USA for Italy.
Day 2 – Arrive Italy: Upon arrival proceed to baggage claim and after clearingcustoms, you will be met by your Central Holidays representative and transfer toyour hotel to spend the rest of the day at leisure. For centuries, Pistoia has beena charming medieval town rich of art and history. Good food, tradition and folkloremade this town one of the most beautiful pearls of Tuscany. This evening we havea welcome cocktail and briefing at the hotel. Tonight dinner is at the hotel. (D)
Day 3 – Pistoia/Florence/Pistoia: After breakfast, you will transfer to Florence fora walking tour with our local guide. Its striking buildings, formidable galleries andtreasure-crammed churches attest to the Florentine love of display. Its elegantappearance and the skyline, with its russet rooftops and lofty domes, contributedto give this city its role as an important center for culture and arts. See theCathedral, whose gigantic "cupola" is the symbol of Florence's artisticachievements, the Baptistery (from outside) with its fine bronze doors adornedwith the famous Gates of Paradise, the Piazza della Signoria, the Academia andthe Statue of David. Enjoy free time for shopping or visiting some of the numerousmuseums and art galleries. Tonight dinner is at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 4 - Pistoia/Lucca and Pisa/Pistoia - Optional Tour: Day at leisure or afterbreakfast, take a tour to Pisa and Lucca. In the morning we go to Pisa to see itsincredible Leaning Tower, the bell tower of the 900 year old Cathedral of Pisa. Itis 14 feet off center at the top because of settling after construction was startedin 1173. Your visit of Pisa will also include a sightseeing tour of Pisa's Campo deiMiracoli, or Field of Miracles, to see the Baptistery and Duomo (entrance included);all fine examples of the Pisan-Romanesque architectural style. In the afternoonwe continue to Lucca. Lucca is a peaceful place with narrow lanes that windamong the medieval buildings, opening suddenly to reveal churches, tiny piazzasand many other reminders of the city's long history, including a Romanamphitheater. This town is well known for its magnificent 16th and 17th centuryramparts, which having remained intact, encircle its narrow streets which are linedwith many medieval buildings. Then, we go to Montecarlo di Lucca at “Fattoria ilPoggio” for a wine tasting and snack with typical Lucca products. Tonight dinneris at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 5 - Pistoia/Siena/San Gimignano/Pistoia: After breakfast, we head to Siena& San Gimignano for our full day tour. Set in the most beautiful Tuscan countrysideof rolling hills, lush vines and gray-green olive trees, Siena offers much to see,from the fine palaces that line the narrow cobbled streets and the superb Duomo,to the celebrated Piazza del Campo where the famed Palio horse race is run yearly.Continue to San Gimignano, a town of Etruscan origin. Built by noble families, thefourteen remaining towers that lined the ramparts look like medieval skyscrapers.Tonight dinner is at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 6 - Pistoia/Cinque Terre/Pistoia - Optional Tour: Enjoy the tour to theCinque Terre. We will arrive at “La Spezia”. Then we take the panoramic train toPortovenere and the Cinque Terre "the five lands"; five medieval fisherman ports,which developed isolated throughout the ages, as they could only be reached bysea and remained architecturally intact. See how these five small villages are
suspended between water and earth, nestled in the cliffs overlooking the sea andgreen hills. We will reach Portovenere and from here we'll proceed by train withmagnificent views of the coast. We will stop at two of the five villages for a visit,and then return by train to La Spezia where our motor coach will wait for us togo back to Pistoia. Dinner tonight is at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 7 - Pistoia/Chianti/Pistoia: After breakfast enjoy the tour of the ChiantiRegion. The beauty of this territory, known for its wineries, lies in the perfectequilibrium between the soft forms of slopes and their thousand nuances of colorand the crowded woods populated by ancient castles, secular parishes andbeautiful villas. You will visit Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Gaiole inChianti. In the afternoon, you will stop in Greve in Chianti at the famous “Cantinedi Greve” for a wine tasting of the best Chianti Red Wines. Tonight dinner is at thehotel. (B,D)
Day 8 - Pistoia: After breakfast we visit downtown to discover Pistoia, theunknown pearl of Tuscany. We will tour Pistoia's main square, the Piazza delDuomo, which is bounded by some terrific examples of medieval architecture,including the Cathedral of San Zeno and its bell tower and the 14th century GothicBaptistery of San Giovanni in Corte. Adjacent is the medieval marketplace wherewe can stop and shop for a while. In the afternoon spend your time as you prefer,relax, do you last minute shopping and enjoy the medieval town of Pistoia. Tonightdinner is at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 9 - Pistoia/USA: After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flighthome. (B)

Cancellations between 30 and 15 days prior to departure: 75% of total cost per person
Cancellations 14 days or less prior to departure, or no show: 100% of the package price
