2.5 RANGLAR REALTIME CONDITION MONITORING (RRTCM OPTIONAL)

Ranglar proposes the use of state of the art technology in the areas of condition monitoring (CM). The CM sensors and components can be stand alone with separate visual displays or can be integrated into the PLUS1 platform and can be shared with home office in real time (depending on Wi-Fi signal).

Sensors and switches:

• Each of the main components has a low restriction, turbine flow sensor and are part of a system to measure efficacy of the components. Charge flow / pressure is also monitored by a flow turbine.

• The two HOS circuits have temperature sensors.

• We use a dedicated circulation pump in conjunction with 4 sensor systems. These are in the hydraulic tank and measure dielectric constant of the oil condition, H2o saturation % level, temperature and a ISO cleanliness level sensor to monitor over all oil health.

• The truck or power unit engine has a sensor to measure dielectric constant, oil temp and water saturation % level. The engine also has a level switch that alerts to both low level and high level, as well a pressure sensor is installed in the cooling system. The intake air system can be monitored for restriction.

• The transfer case has a small digital flow meter, pressure sensor as well as sensors to measure dielectric constant, water saturation % levels and temperature. The transfer case is also equipped with a low oil level switch.

• The truck manual transmission is equipped with a magnetic switch that alerts at the point of collection ferrous material, it is a warning device only.

7.1.2 Top Drive/Brake System

The drive motors are protected by high-pressure filters with reverse flow check valves. Hydraulic load holding counter balance valves are installed at the motor ports to hold the tubing (in and out hole) when the brakes are released.

7.1.3 Drive Chain Description

The drive chain is steel plate body construction with full access side openings to enable easy removal of the drive chain and tubing blocks.

The drive chains and injector blocks may be fitted for tubing sizes of 3/4” O.D. through 2-7/8” O.D. For tubing size 3-1/4” to 3-1/2” O.D. the integral block carrier chains are required.

The traction chains and designed to transmit a force of 130,000 lbs. in the out-hole and 50,000 lbs. in the in-hole directions from a stalled position.

The two (2) drive chains are roller chain type with connecting links to allow for replacement of the drive chains and injector blocks while the tubing remains in the injector.

Clearance between the tubing block when fully retracted allows for the passage of the various tools that are normally used in coiled tubing strings. The feature also allows easier tubing stab-in into the injector.

The tubing blocks are the new design. The new design incorporates tighter tolerance and a longer contact area per block to maintain contact with four (4) rollers at all times, and as many as five (5). The new design reduces wear, prolongs life, and should significantly reduce overall maintenance costs of the injector head.

7.1.4 Chain Traction System

Chain traction is achieved by the use of a two-skate plate/roller chain assembly that applies pressure to the backsides of both drive chains. These roller assemblies are each compressed by twenty (20) hydraulic cylinders. The twenty (20) hydraulic cylinders are plumbed in two (2) sets of ten (10) hydraulic cylinders. If a failure in the hydraulic cylinders or tubing occurs, one (1) set can be isolated from the other and traction maintained on the tubing. Each hydraulic circuit incorporates and accumulator to prevent variations in tubing diameter to vary hydraulic pressure. Each control circuit is protected by a velocity fuse to prevent loss of control due to hose failure.

The two (2) sets of ten (10) hydraulic cylinders have one (1) pressure control at the panel since the twenty (20) hydraulic cylinders operate at the same hydraulic pressure

This tubing traction system drastically reduces the tubing damage that is normally associated with excessive roller skate assembly hydraulic pressure.

The roller skate assemblies use rollers assembled in a continuous chain assembly. The use of these large rollers with the design of the tubing blocks ensures that four (4) rollers are in contact with each tubing block prior to transition from one (1) block for the next. This feature prevents pivoting and clattering of the tubing blocks as they pass over the drive chain sprockets and reduces the stress on the tubing caused by the gripping of the tubing blocks on the tubing.

7.1.5 Chain Tensioning System

Chain tensioning is achieved by a direct vertical movement of the bottom drive chain idler sprockets by two (2) pairs of hydraulic cylinders powered by a single hydraulic for ease of operation. This feature gives a greater range of drive chain tensioning without reducing the drive chain contact on the drive chain drive and idler sprockets and thus increases the life of the drive

Ranglar Manufacturing QFR028 R2 Initial: _____ Initial: _____ Quotation No. 17561 Rev 002 Page 20

chains. The hydraulic system only needs to be 3000 psi to insure proper tension under high snubbing operations.

7.1.6 Included Items

Multiple drains with plugs in bottom of drain pan

• Hydraulic or electric load cell attachments

• Automatic brake release with injector motor pressure

• Lubrication manifold

7.1.7 Design Benefits of CSI 130K-HH Injector

• CSI skate cylinders are mounted close to the main side plates to allow for more strength and less flexing.

• Skate rollers are a journal bearing design to spread the load over a larger area.

• Splash lubrication system makes it easier for consistent lubrication and allows for easier for consistent lubrication and allows for easier lubrication when needed as it can be done from the control cab. This is safer than climbing up to the injector to grease.

• Skate can be rolled to the outside of the injector to allow for easier repair.

• Drive chain, skate chain move together under load in order to keep wear down to a minimum. This design allows for the drive and skate system to be on third of the time loaded and two thirds of the time unloaded which allows for cooling of the components to reduce stress build up.

• All components are machined to close tolerance to enable a consistent load over the length of the gripping area.

• We use 5/8” side plates for a stronger main frame, which reduces flexing at higher skate pressures.

• In the event of a failure with tubing in the well our design allows for a relatively quick and safe repair of the skate system and drive system by removing a section of outer drive chain, collapsing the inner skate tension plate and rolling in a new skate roller system. All of this can be done while the tubing is still in the well.

• CSI designed our injector with a skate roller assembly that does not require greasing and is under load only one third of the time to allow for cooling and stress relief. If our injector is operated correctly and is lubricated with the recommended lubricant at the recommended intervals and sufficient lubrication is being applied our components will run for 1 to 2 million meters (3 to 5 million feet) plus without failure. We do recommend periodic inspections at 250 thousand meters (650,000 feet) to ensure that the system is sound. Replace worn or damaged components at that time, if required.

Fatigue Analysis for Coiled Tubing (FACT Software)

FACT is a management tool that can be used to maximize the safe use of coiled tubing strings.

The Fatigue Analysis, tracks life consumption of individual coiled tubing strings and parts of the

strings subject to jobs carried out in wells or in the yard, and showing life consumption per job.

In addition, the module gives the user the option of finding the maximum number of cycles to

fatigue failure, with or without internal pressure and subject to a user specified geometry of the

goose-neck and the reel. n all the computations of this module, corrosion factors (due to acid,

cement, etc.) and stress concentration factors (due to welds) are taken into account.
