California’s CLE Cosmetics describes itself as “an embodiment of the minimalist woman.” In this vein, the brand offers a curated, capsule line of products in simple white packaging. At Cosmoprof, the brand showcases its Melting Lip Powder. The product is applied directly onto the lips – or the cheeks – with the powdery formula transforming into a long-lasting stain as it’s worn. The product comes in four shades – Barbie Pink, Milk Choco, Red Cherry, and Ultra Summer – and is blended with Vitamin E, to protect the lips and boost moisture. The range also includes CCC Cream – which stands for Color, Control, and Change – which combines a BB and CC cream in one product; Essence Air Cushion Foundation, Oxygen Foam Cleanser, and Melting Cleanser. The company’s name stands for Creative Lass Esthetic, with the brand saying its aim is to bring out the user’s “own unique beauty.”

Contours RX wants to offer customers the benefits of an eye-lift procedure without the arduous recovery time. The company’s founder Britain Todd has designed eyelid lifting strips, which are intended to correct sagging skin, hooded lids, and asymmetrical lids. The strips are manufactured to feel like skin, and so that they become invisible on contact with the lids. They are applied in the folds of the lids, and pressed onto the skin, so that they bond with the lids. Make-up can be applied over the eyelids, but isn’t needed to conceal the strips. They come in different lengths to achieve a more or less intense lifting effect, and are made from medical-grade, latex-free material. They currently retail through salons in the U.S. and Australia, and via Contour RX’s own website.

Nevada brand Chaleur creates a range of self-heating products, which it says penetrate deeper into the skin, resulting in improved “tone, texture, and luminosity.” Its flagship product is a Self-Heating Facial Treatment Mask, a sheet mask infused with minerals, marine algae, and sea salts. The company says that when water is added to the mask, a heat reaction occurs, so the ingredients benefit the skin on a deeper level. Those ingredients include LumiFirm, an apple stem cell complex that promotes skin longevity and Matrixyl3000, a peptide that firms and reduces surface wrinkles. In addition to the mask, Chaleur makes an Oil-Free Moisture Lotion, and two products containing its Thermalzyme ingredient: Heat-Powered Serum Concentrate and Heat-Powered renewal mask. Thermalzyme blends super antioxidants and extremophiles – organisms that survive in extreme conditions - that together help to neutralize the effects of free radicals on the skin, to create a bright, luminous complexion.

The ChinUp mask promises to slim, lift, contour, and firm the face after one 30-minute treatment. The British brand behind it claims the mask tackles the underlying causes of looser skin, with its ingredients stimulating skin cells to break down fat molecules, and encouraging new skin cells to form. To do this, the company has infused the mask with a patented formula called Skintronics, which it says helps break down of fat molecules in the skin cells, restores firmness, and helps boost the density of collagen. This ingredient combines with co-enzyme Q10, to stimulate the cell’s strength; corum 9235, a warming agent that aids absorption of the Skintronics serum, and vitamin E, to protect the cells from free radicals. The sheet masks are applied to the skin, and secured with a band that holds them in place. The ChinUp mask is sold via the brand’s website, and retails from around $38.

Founded by Aisha Crump, who wanted to create a hair and skin care line that suited her children’s mixed-heritage skin, Honey Baby Naturals is a range of gentle shampoos, conditioners, and skin care. As the name suggests, honey is a key ingredient, with Crump pointing out its healing, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-microbial properties. The Honey Sweet Softening Conditioner blends honey with milk protein, to moisturize and strengthen hair, and prevent breakage when combing, while Honey Child Gentle Shampoo is free of sulfates, and blends honey with chamomile to prevent the scalp from becoming dry or flaky. Skin care products include Honey Nectar Body Jelly, a petroleum-free formula that creates a protective layer to treat very dry skin. The range is sold at 40 independent retailers in the U.S., and is stocked at Meijer stores and Target.com. Crump plans to expand internationally in 2017.

COLOR KISSED HAIRSPRAY Colorsmash – USA www.conditionculture.com Colorsmash launches Color Kissed hair spray, which imparts temporary color to the hair, with a shiny smooth finish – compared to the matte finish of hair chalk. The spray comes in shades Pink, Violet, and Indigo – with Get Teal to launch in November – and is suitable for both light and dark hair colors. On dark hair, it washes out with one wash, while on lighter hair colors it fades gradually, washing out after three or four shampoos. The spray can be layered to achieve more intense shades, and is brushed to evenly distribute the color. Colorsmash is a brand that’s part of Condition Culture, a company launched in 2010 by twin sisters Alex and Donya Litowitz. Their other brands include Featherlocks, a line of feather hair accessories; Knotties, snag-free hair bands; and Tassel Tattoos, temporary metallic tattoos.

The scents number Angel Cake, a sugary fragrance; Beach Babe, inspired by tropical breezes; Candy Crush, which mimics candied flower petals; and Wild Honey, which blends honey, brown sugar, and Tahitian vanilla. One of the firm’s founders is Canadian Randi Schinder, who founded the Clean line of fragrances in 2003.

The neuroscientists behind xSense are transforming fragrance from a mere luxury into a functional product. Dr. Ashok Gowda, a biomedical engineer, and one of the brand’s co-founders, was inspired to create appealing scents that enhance cognitive functions, too. The products in the line are Worksense, whose blend of scents are designed to improve memory, accuracy, and attention span; Playsense, to support stamina and endurance; and Restsense, to aid relaxation. The roll-on scents are designed to be applied to the upper lip, and come in different formulations targeted to men and women. The scents can also be dispersed via a USB diffuser, which can plug into a car or a computer’s USB drive. Prices for the line start at $48, and they are sold via the brand’s website.

MoYou-London is a British brand that creates scores of nail art plates, accessories, tools, and polishes. With a youthful, experimental spirit, the company designs nail art plates – it currently carries over 500 - with themes such as “Steampunk,” “Rebel,” and “Comics,” so that users can stamp their nails with myriad designs. It also produces nail tattoos, along with sequins, glitter, and rhinestones to adorn the digits. And its highly pigmented polishes in a rainbow of shades are designed to be visible even when stamped onto black nail lacquer. MoYou-London launches new products at a rapid pace, to create a must-have buzz on its social media channels, and it shows users how to create nail art looks with its products on its YouTube channel. The brand is carried in 40 countries, and also sells online via its website.

Another creative, fun, nail brand at Cosmoprof, Mini Mani Moo is a U.S. company that offers a variety of nail art and polish products. It presents Mess No More!, a liquid tape and peel-off base coat combined, which aims to make it easier to keep the finger clean while doing nail art. The user applies the product to the areas they want to keep free of polish, creates their desired nail look, and then peels off the tape to remove any excess around the nail. It’s also designed to be used a base coat, allowing the user to simply peel off the polish when they want to change their look. The product is created using liquid latex, and is sold alone, or in a kit with a top coat. The brand also carries a plethora of nail stencils, nail art brushes, stamping tools, and nail polish, aimed at both consumers and professionals.

Big Boy is a British shaving and beard care line with a strong, masculine identity. Founded by Sicilian-born Massimiliano Luca Comella and Andrius Vorobjovas, it blends ingredients such as Sicilian olive oil, almond oil, beeswax, and shea oil, to create products that “work in harmony with the skin’s natural elements,” the brand says. The Shaving Gel is formulated with aloe to rejuvenate the skin, while the Beard Wash is scented with sandalwood, and designed to soften the beard’s bristles. And the brand’s Soothing Drops contain calendula extract, renowned for combating skin irritation, along with argan and sweet almond oils. It’s designed to be applied to the skin under the beard, or can be used as an aftershave. The brand’s stockists include The Refinery salon at Harrods in London, along with hairdressers Toni & Guy and Tommy Guns in London, and Y-12 salon at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Dubai.

The Canadian line also produces skin care, such as its High Potency Vitamin C Cleanser, and Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Andrew Grella is behind the line – he started it after struggling to cover up his own skin imperfections on his high school prom night - and he also creates online tutorials on his website, advising customers how to apply the products.

Is heat styling without damage possible? According to New Jersey company Pure Code, the answer is yes. The brand has developed its Titanium Infuse Pro Vapor Iron, which it says “works with your hair, not against it.” The tool is designed so that the brand’s Heat Protector Serum flows through the plates as it’s being used, protecting the hair while it’s being styled. There are two serums: UV + Heat Protector and Volume + Heat Protector, both formulated with argan oil to prevent dryness, breakage, and frizz in the hair. The irons – which can create straight or curled styles - are designed to rise to a temperature of 450° F, which means that styling time is reduced, limiting the amount of time that hair is exposed to heat.
