He has published extensively on Nazi Germany and the Holocaust, and is the winner of the Bronze Prize of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, as well as the National Jewish Book Award. Professor Herf is a member of the editorial board of Central European History and e Journal of Israeli History, and was a contributing editor to Partisan Review. In addition, he has contributed articles, reviews, and essays to e New Republic, Internationale Politik, Die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Welt, Die Zeit, e National Interest, e American Interest and e Washington Post.
