INTRODUCTION

• The Italian Renaissance Period was a cultural movement between the 14th to 16th centuries (1420-1600).

• The High Renaissance, which was between 1490-1530 was the artistic peak of accomplishment in the cities of Florence, Rome, and Venice.

• The term “Renaissance” means “Rebirth”.

• The Renaissance was born from increasing religious passion challenged by logical thought and the new philosophical , literary, and artistic movement called “Humanism”.

• Italian archetects, sculptors, and painters integrated Christian traditions into their work. Artists started to focus on anatomy, light, and developed the use of highly realistic linear perspective into their work.

• Born April 15th,1452• Was an Italian polymath: painter,

sculptor, architect, planner, musician, scientist, engineer, and inventor. Considered to be one of the greastest painters of all time.

• Born in 1386. A famous Florentine sculptor and artist. He brought the Greek ideal of what it means to be human into the Christian context.
