Scope of WDM WEB Tool

Provide assistance to the Network Designer Engineers and enables to compare and follow the implemented network versus the "Low Level Design" operation.

Provide strong Data Base Modeling to cover the weakness of the WDM NMS system and extend data Modeling in comparison with the generic network inventory system.

Provide a planning tool (including resources management and reservation).

Produce circuit design report in a WO for the implementation teams

 Provide a flexible reporting tool

WDM WEB Modules

Parameter Manager(all attributes definition, equipment’s types, card templates, …)

 Site & Node Manager(device’s inventory, resources, sessions, routes & spans, … )

Trail Manager (Trail-ID generation, resources allocation, trail status follow-up, …

Report Manager(different kind of reports are scheduled and the results are saved historically)

> Cross-Check Report (NMS <-> WDMWEB discrepancies are checked)

> Optical Report (optical performance by wavelength are reported and some statistics are calculated)

> Capacity Report (different views on the network capacity used and/or available)

5

Parameter ManagerAll the possible values for the database attributes are maintained in this modules (i.e. : trail’s type, list of customer attributes, equipment’s type, possible associations between equipment and sub-equipment, specific constraints to be verified during the resources usage, … )

Parameter Manager (2)Different card configurations are possible in WDM WED Tool; eachconfiguration (template) can be generated in a separate defined file and imported in the DB (using a ‘csv’ file); each imported template receive a version number and can be maintained in the application.

Trail Manager

Generate and Store in a DB the Unique Standard Trail-ID to be used in the Network(depending of Site_A, Site_Z, Next_Site,Type of Trail, … )i.e. :

Device ManagerResources Management & The WO Generator

The Device Manager specifies a complete data structure to be shared by the other modules of the WDM WEB Tool; some treatments cover the features as:

• Manage the full DWDM nodes inventory based on the DWDM network upload

• Provide Node ID, Node name, site name and IP addresses management. • Manage the occupied capacity on each node from OCH level to services ports

• Provide a support tool for circuit design and DWDM resource reservation and Query Forms

• Provide WDM node extension design report (WO) for the implementation team (add cards up to a full new node).

• Provide a circuit design report (WO) for the implementation team

Device Manager (2)Resources Management & The WO Generator

The WDMWEB Tool is aware of each type of WDM boards. The designtool is based on specific board templates for each type of boards; the template defines :

• Boards capacity, line rate, ….• Logic port type, Client port type, port id , port name.• Port group information• Trails Cross Connection points for all type of trails.• Implicit cross connection

The WDMWEB Tool is supporting:– ROADM and FOADM, 40 or 80 wavelengths systems.– Mix node like ROADM and FOADM in the same node.– DWDM degree– ROADM, Colourless ROADM & Directionless ROADM– ODUx SNCP protection

Page 11: Présentation WDM WEB Tool - 20131101 _ Public

11

Device Manager (3)Resources Management & The WO Generator

The WDMWEB Tool is supporting details design features like:

• Physical connection management ( intra node and inter nodes)• Optical cross connection from line port to edge on the long distance dark fibre.• ODU-x cross connection (x = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4).• ODU-x SNCP cross connection• Filter the free resources (Port’s connections) during a Design Session (Trails Resourcing)

Page 12: Présentation WDM WEB Tool - 20131101 _ Public

12

Device Manager (4)Resources Management & The WO Generator

The WDM WEB Tool include other important features as :

• Routes Management- Defines Spans- Defines Routes- Limit the Trail_ID Generator to the Existing Routes• Sessions Management- ‘Exclusive’ Session (Mono-User)- ‘Nodal’ Session (Multi-User, locking the Resources of 1 Node)- ‘Route’ Session (Multi-User, locking the Resources of 1 Route)• Circuit design extension up to automatic occupation of optical resources along the E2E trail route.• Improved trail resources showing functionality (trails, port, WDM service cross connections, server trails, intermediate OTN switching points….) • Add a “GeoLoc” functionality for Equipment, Routes and Trails

Page 13: Présentation WDM WEB Tool - 20131101 _ Public

Device Manager (5)Resources Management & The WO Generator

The WDM Tool supports extended Huawei WDM products:

•OSN1800 TNF2 boards•OSN6800 TN5X boards generation•OSN8800 selves •OSN8800 TN5X boards and 40G line rate.•TN5X boards means:

– Dynamic ports

– Post installation logical port reconfiguration

– Virtual port

– ODU-Flex– OTN switching up to ODU-0 level.

Report ManagerThe Cross-Check Report

Have the automatic reporting of NMS content versus Inventory

data base and WDMWEB Tool Data Base.

Give reporting with error severity classes to help the implementing

team to improve the quality.

Insure a better Inventory Data Base content.

Detect automatically the non-compliant trail names.

Give automatic reporting with graphical views and history about

cross check results.

Nearly ready to provide KPI for Trails Quality Naming.

Report Manager- The Optical Report -

• The performances values exported from the NMS U2000 are processed to produce an optical power level report of the DWDM network related to different optical wavelengths added or passing through the network.

• Per Span, Report the Min, Max, Average values and severity of non-respected optical power range.

• Nearly ready to provide optical power alignment KPI

Report Manager- The Capacity Report -

The WDM Tool include Capacity Reporting Features:

• Management of the “Mega Routes” (MR)(Topology Description -> Route Name like ‘SITEASITEZSITENEXT_D1’)

• Management of the “Jumper SPAN”(Virtual Span to bridge jumping in the topology

• The MR will be used to define the Header Lines of the Capacity Reporting• Manage Different kind of Capacity Reports:

– Wavelength Allocation Report– Lambda Report– Span Report “over Lambda”– Span Report “per Lambda”– Section Report “over Lambda”– Section Report “per Lambda”– Route Report– OTN switching Report.
