About Azad Kashmir• Kashmir is an area on the northern borders of India and

Pakistan; officially known as Jammu & Kashmir. • Kashmir is famous for its natural beauty and has often

been referred to as the 'Switzerland of the East'. The heart of the area is the fertile Vale of Kashmir (known as The Valley), which lies between the Himalayas and the Pir Panjal mountain range. Here the climate is mild and the soil well watered.

• Kashmir covers an area of 222,237 SqKm (85,800 SqMi). Kashmir.

• The Indus river flows through Kashmir.

4. We have a president as well as prime minister.

1. Three Fourths green background representing the seventy five percent Muslim population of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

2. One Fourth Orange (Gold) color represents the twenty five percent minorities of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

3. The Green stripes represent the Valley of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. 4. The White stripes represent the snow-covered mountains of the State of Jammu

and Kashmir.

1. We have strong literacy rate. Nearly about 70%.

2. 25-30% Graduate are present in Azad Kashmir.

3. But we have only One University. Unfortunately our university was destroyed recently earthquake.

4. We have only one Engineering college.5. But we don’t have medical college.
