Robert Bradford’s Inspiration

Robert Bradford’s Inspiration all started of because of his children. He says that he got inspired to make sculptures and art out of toys by

taking some time looking into his children’s toy boxes. He also says the colours and forms on the toys helped him make his art

colourful.

Robert Bradford uses environmental scrap to make his sculptures. He uses many different materials such as whole book magazines,

scrap buildings, timber furniture, and tree waste such as twigs.

He says a good reason for making his sculptures from environmental waste is because it is cheap. He also says he makes art because they represent smaller sculptures that are made by people who

have had no credit for making them.

Why He Makes Art

Robert Bradford says his interest and why he makes art out of science fiction and animals is because he considers himself to be like a mad scientist trying to create life that is also another reason why he makes his sculptures human size and sometimes even larger then life.

He says he wonders what it would be like being animals so that’s why he makes sculptures. He likes to make environmental sculptures because he realises humans are not the only ones who share the environment so basically his art is like a representative to everything that uses nature and the environment.

Another reason why he makes his art out of animals and science fiction stuff out of toys and environmental scrap is because he thinks children enjoy it more so it is like something for children.

How He Makes It

Robert Bradford uses many materials to make his sculptures but the main question is how does he do them.

He uses many techniques such as sticking plastic pegs together to make a leg or something. He says he prefers using toys because he does not like modern materials.

He makes his art using other peoples ideas but does not take them for granted and credits the person who's idea it was in the first place.
