DEFINITION OF GRAVITATION

  The force of attraction between all masses in the universe; especially the attraction ofthe earth's mass for bodies near its surface;"the more remote the body the less the gravity"; "the gravitationbetween two bodies is proportional to the product of their masses andinversely proportional to the square ofthe distance between them"; "gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love"

• When a ball throws upwards it comes down.

EXAMPLE OF GRAVITATION

Some examples of the force of gravity include:•The force that holds the gases in the sun.•The force that causes a ball you throw in the air to come down again.•The force that causes a car to coast downhill even when you aren't stepping on the gas. •The force that causes a glass you drop to fall to the floor. •The force that keeps the Earth and all of the planets in line in the proper position in their orbits around the sun. •The force that propels a toddler down a slide. •The force that causes the moon to revolve around the Earth.
