F rom their earliest days of European settlement, South Carolina and Georgia have had a strong and influential Calvinist and Presbyterian presence. French Huguenots and English Puritans, Scottish and Scots-Irish Presbyterians together with scattered German and Dutch Calvinists helped establish the colonies and influenced their religious, cultural, and social life.
