The original residential unit current Přerov was located on the left bank Bečva in Předmostí.

Archeological researchs found extensive housing development of mammoth hunters in 25 000 years ago.

The first written mention of Přerov was in 1141. Přemysl Otakar II. made Přerov on a city in 1256.

Author of a czech grammar, famous native of Přerov, diplomat and educationalist of the Unity of Brethren, Jan Blahoslav was born in 1526 in Přerov.

Jan Amos Komenský was his predecessor, teacher of nations, theologian, philosopher, studied in Přerov in the Unity of Brethren.

In 1887 was found museum J.A.Komenského.
