Install .Net Framework & Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Express

Microsoft .Net Framework 4.6 and SQL Server 2014 installers can be installed with Aldelo EDC.◊ When installing Aldelo EDC select a Custom Install◊ Follow the prompts to complete the Aldelo EDCinstallInstaller Location:Start >All Programs or All Apps >Aldelo > ThirdPartyInstall the .Net Framework 4.6◊ From the programs list, select – “Extract .Net 4.6Framework Installer”◊ Double-click on the “NDP46..” file◊ Please read the License Agreement and check inthat “I have read and accept the license terms”when you're ready to continue◊ Select – Install (see Figure A)◊ The Software will start to install it can take sometime depending on your PC. Once Its finished, youmay need to restart your computer.

Install SQL Server 2014◊ When you first launch the installer, it will go through a few setup processes, but then bring you to a screen asking you to select whether it is a new install or an upgrade. Since this is a new installation, select – “New SQL Server stand-alone installation...”◊ If you are planning on using the Upgrade option, you can choose it, however, we normally like to uninstall the old version, reboot the computer and reinstall the new SQL Server◊ In the next screen there is a option to “Use Microsoft to check for Updates”. This option is up to you, but Microsoft does recommend it. (see Figure B)

◊ In the License Terms you will need to Read the License Terms and accept them◊ Select – “Next” (see Figure C)

◊ In the Feature Selection should already have the Instance features enabled by default. If not, select – “Select All”◊ Select – “Next”◊ In the Instance Configuration screen, select – “Named instance”◊ We suggested to name the SQL Instance “Aldelo”. (see Figure D)

If you don't know what the SQL Instance was named, you can found it in the Windows Services. Start >Control Panel >Administrative Tools >Services >SQL Server (XXXXX)

◊ Select – “Next”◊ In the Database Configuration screen, select – “Mixed Mode...” and enter in a password. When installing SQL in SQL Authentication, it will require that password. (see Figure E)

◊ Select – “Next”◊ Once its finished you can now run your Windows Updates until there are no more to run.

Aldelo EDC Install

◊ Launch the Aldelo EDC Database Setup Wizard at Start> All Programs or All Apps> Aldelo> Aldelo EDC> Aldelo EDC Client (see Figure 1)

◊ SQL Server Name should be the Computer name then Back Slash (\) and the SQL InstanceName. If you not sure what the SQL Instance is, it can be located in Windows ServicesControl Panel >Administrative Tools >Services >SQL Server (Instance Name)

In this case, it's “ALDELO”◊ Select – “User Accounts and Passwords” tab(see Figure 2)

◊ The Encryption Passphrase is already created for you, but you will need to create passwordsfor each of the three Users. The password needs to be complex and over 8 characters long, contain at least one number, and at least one special character.◊ Take note of the user names and passwords.◊ You can skip the E-mail Notifications tab ◊ Select – Finish tab.◊ Select – Create Database◊ You will get one more pop up. (see Figure 3)◊ Select – “No” for now and this can be setuplater if desired.◊ If all steps were completed correctly, thedatabase will be created at this point.◊ This is what the Main login screen looks like. (see Figure 4)

◊ When you login it will ask you to answer three Security Challenge Questions. The answers can not be the same. This will be used to reset your password if you ever forget it. (see Figure 5)

◊ We suggest answering with information you will remember and every user can have different answers. There is NOT another option to reset the passwords. ◊ Once completed, select – Update◊ You will need to login using the User Name & Password you created◊ We suggest setting up the desired number of receipts at this point at Store Settings >Receipts >Initial Print Copies (see Figure 6)

◊ By default, “Initial Print Copies” is set to 1. The most common setup is 2 copies. One for the

business and one for the customer. Save any changes you make.◊ Next you will want to set up your Merchant account. You will need the “VAR Sheet” providedby your Credit Card Processor.◊ File > Merchant Accounts> Select – New◊ Read the warning and Select – I Agree to continue (See Figure 7)

Figure 7◊ Account Name: Usually you enter in the name of your business◊ Account Type: Select “Primary Credit Processing Account”. Some businesses have multiple accounts and each would have to be setup here as well.◊ Merchant Service Provider: Select your account type, e.g., EMV, Classic, etc.◊ Business Type: Restaurant accepts gratuities and Retail does not◊ Active Account: This needs to be checked in◊ Enable Tracing: This helps troubleshoot issues, but is not required.◊ Once all is filled out on the left, your VAR(merchant account) information will need to be input on the right. The fields are different depending on your choice of credit card processors and options. You must fill in all the bold fields.◊ Once all the bold fields are filled in, select – Save◊ Now you can test a credit card. You can do this at Credit tab> Pre Authorization or Credit tab> Sale. You should also ensure you can batch out successfully at Batch tab> Close Current Batch> Close Primary Merchant.

Setup Aldelo POS Integration to Aldelo EDCAldelo POS must be a compatible version to Aldelo EDC. The integration should ideally be setup on the same station with EDC first.

1. Back Office >Store Settings >Revenue >Configure EDC Integration Settings2. Select – OK (See Figure 11)

3. EDC Server Host Name: This can be the Computer Name or the static IP Address of the Computer hosting the Aldelo EDC.

4. EDC Server Application Name: Enter “AldeloEDC” without the quotes5. Select – Update (See Figure 12)

6. Enter in the User Name and Password you created in the Aldelo EDC. By Default the User Name is: Administrator

8. The POS User Name and Integration Token can be obtained from Aldelo EDC >File >User Account >double-click on “POS User”

In some cases you may need to Elevate Security. If so, login again and go straight to the “This Station” tab and continue.

17. Once successful, select – Install Service.18. If the service has already been installed, you will not have the “Install Service” button

available. In this case, select – Stop, then select – Run

19. Select – Welcome tab20. Select – Exit21. Now select Save & Done in

Aldelo POS22.To confirm that the AFR Services

is running correctly you will seeit on top of the software.(See Figure 14)

23.You can test a credit card on thisstation to verify integration andproper communication with your credit card processor.

24. For additional POS stations – login to the “Configure EDC Integration Settings” screen and follow the Setup Aldelo POS Integration to Aldelo EDC Steps 12-23.
