Laws to Know!

• FMLA: Family Medical Leave Act• How can you qualify:

– The FMLA entitles eligible employees of covered employers to take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons

– with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.

Eligible employees are entitled to:

• Twelve work weeks of leave in a 12-month period for: 1.the birth of a child and to care for the newborn

1. Create a Payroll schedule for a Max of 5 employees; $100,000 yearly budget

• Use www.salary.com to assign each employee, including yourself, a Gross Income and to find a job description

• Attach a Word document listing each employee’s name, Job Title, Gross Salary, Part-time or Full-Time status, Salaried or Hourly Employee, and a Job Description• Job description includes responsibilities and

expectations• At least ONE Complete Paragraph
