Dear Sacred Heart Family,
Last Monday we welcomed 37 children to Sacred Heart. They will make up the kindergarten class of 2015. Last Monday, I also celebrated my dad’s 83rd birthday. Between these two occasions I saw exactly how God takes the ordinary events of life and makes His presence real to us. I think we can all appreciate the way this happens. Whether it’s watching young parents drop off their precious child at school, observing sweet and innocent children becoming instant friends, or embracing a man who continues to teach life lessons, we are all joined in a circle of stories.
That is what we are all called to do…share our stories. One of my favorite quotes is on a plaque in my office. It reads, “Your beautiful, messy, complicated story matters…tell it.” I could not be more excited about sharing Sacred Heart school stories with you! Our incredible staff is diving into the last quarter of the year with enthusiasm. Our goal is to reach students where they are, facilitate leading them to the truth, let them take advantage of teachable moments, and, most important, allowing our students to practice their learning. We call this style- “teaching like Jesus taught.”
As we move towards Easter, as we move towards the end of the school year, I pray that we continue to seek the presence of God in everything; putting love into action: saying that kind word, making that call to reconcile, affirming someone’s giftedness.
We are a blessed school. God loves us intimately.
Thank you, dear parents, for your continued support. Thank you for sharing your stories with us.
In the Triumph of God’s Great Love,
Maureen EngenPrincipal

Family Prayer to the
Immaculate Heart of Mary Oh Mother Most Pure, we come to you as a family and consecrate ourselves to your most Immaculate Heart. We come to you as a family and place our trust in your powerful intercession. Oh Dearest Mother Mary, teach us as a mother teaches her children, for our souls are soiled and our prayers are weak because of our sinful hearts. Here we are Dearest Mother, ready to respond to you and follow your way, for your way leads us to the heart of your Son, Jesus. We are ready to be cleansed and purified.Come then Virgin Most Pure, and embrace us with your motherly mantle. Make our hearts whiter than snow and as pure as a spring of fresh water. Teach us to pray, so that our prayers may become more beautiful than the singing of the birds at the break of dawn.Dear Mother Mary, we entrust to your Immaculate Heart of hearts, our family and our entire future. Lead us all to our homeland which is Heaven. Amen.Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
Tuesday Parish-Wide RosaryJoin us in prayer for your special intentions at our parish-wide Rosary every Tuesday evening at 6:30p.m. in our Knights of Columbus Respect Life Rosary Garden starting 3-25-14.

Math Facts Summer Camp After such a great experience last summer, Ms. Brown and Ms. Hart are excited to announce that we will continue the Math Facts Summer Camp again this year. We provide 8 math sessions focusing on a specific skill. This is an opportunity for your child to learn his/her math facts and help prepare for the upcoming school year. These camps will focus on addition and subtraction facts, multiplication and division facts, long multiplication and division, or fraction fluency. Several skill camps will be offered at two different times in the summer to work around vacations and other camps. One session time is available every Tuesday and Thursday in June. Another session is available the last two weeks of July and that is a great opportunity to review from a summer off and prepare for the upcoming school year. Groups will be limited to 10 to 12 students per session and payment must be made at the beginning of the first session.
If you are interested in signing your child up for one of the camps or you have any questions about any of the camps offered please contact Ms. Brown ([email protected]) or Ms. Hart ([email protected]).
