Some responsibilities of the Historian are to make the Historian book meaningful to all 4H members.Make a scrapbook for your club by collecting items throughout the year that will represent the groups accomplishments. This will help the historian book tell a complete and accurate story about the club. 4Accurate RecordsKeep a record of all the clubs activities.-club trips-community service activities-meetings-fund raisers-parties-committees at work-and more!

The Howard Center Stars 4H club has fun with wash basins while visiting a local nursing home.

The historian needs to keep accurate records to include in the book. These activities include lists of the groups activities such as a club trip and community service activities. The records should include pictures and stories about the clubs year. The club historian book is like a scrapbook and should tell a story. The title page includes the year, the group name and historians name. The first page should include a list of all 4H club members, the officers, and leaders. It is also important to include a charter statement of the 4-H club if your group has one. Next comes pictures and clippings, ribbons the 4H club has received as a group, and any correspondence addressed to the club. Then you can include the Secretary and Treasurers book. Remember, you are telling your clubs story!

7Guidelines for Historian BooksCover of book should be in good condition and last for many years.Pages should be securely fastened.Items need to be in good condition and fastened securely to each page.Tell a story about the club year.Always be accurate and neat.

Some guidelines for the Historian book :

Make sure the cover is in good condition, readable and is durable so that it will last for many years. The pages and items should also be in good shape, and securely fastened to the page. The book needs to tell a story about the club year and should be accurate and neat. This book will be looked at by future 4-H members to read about their clubs history. Make sure that future 4-Hers will be able to read it and enjoy looking at the pictures.

8Create a Meaningful Book

The County 4-H Junior Fun Night was held on December 31st with the theme Fear Factor. Our junior 4-H members who attended played games, completed the Fear Factor Food Challenge, and went swimming at the Cresco Fitness Center. Attending from our club were Kate, Joey, Bethany, Kris, and Jordan.

Here is an example of how to create a meaningful book. The County 4-H Junior Fun Night was held on December 31st with the theme Fear Factor. This label includes the date, subject, what they did in a story format. To make the Historian book complete and concise, it needs to include all activities of the group and needs to tell a story. The story shouldnt be wordy, but it should include a summary of the event. Make sure you are brief and to the point. In this presentation, I have shared with you some responsibilities for the Historian including organizing a club historian book, or scrap book, of the 4-H clubs year by collecting items and photos to include in the book.
