Quality Management

The premium quality and freshness of our products is proved in their color, taste and firm

flesh consistency. All our seafood products are wild caught on demand to ensure the best

possible delicacies. Directly after being caught the shrimps and lobsters are frozen

immediately on the fishing vessel at -18 degrees. The sustainable and natural growth of

the prawns and Lobsters in a protected environment is the key to our great products.

Where is our seafood caught ?

The Prawns and Lobsters in our product range are all wild caught in the Gulf of Papua

New Guinea.Papua New Guinea has very strict guidelines that give top priority to

protecting sustainability, the environment and its resources. The state of Papua New

Guinea has laid down several rules for this in the ”Fisheries Management Act of 1998”

and the ”Gulf of Papua Prawn Management Plan”.

What does the „Fisheries Management Act“ from 1998 ensure ?

• promote optimum utilisation and long-term sustainable development of living resources and the need to utilise living resources to achieve economic growth, human resource development and employment creation and a sound ecological balance

• conserve the living resources for both present and future generations• ensure management measures are based on the best scientific evidence available,

and are designed to maintain or restore stocks at levels capable of producing maximum sustainable yield, as qualified by relevant environmental and economic factors including fishing patterns, the interdependence of stocks and generally recommended international minimum standards

• apply a precautionary approach to the management and development of aquatic living resources

• protect the ecosystem as a whole, including species which are not targeted for exploitation, and the general marine and aquatic environment

• implement any relevant obligations of Papua New Guinea under applicable rules of international law and international agreements

What are the measures taken ?

• Seasonal closure – December to March

• Limited entry – only 15 vessels shall be licensed to operate in the area

• Restricted entry – only Papua New Guinea companies

• Gear restriction – vessel size (30 metres), rope and nets size restrictions

• Requirement that all licensed vessels have Automatic Location Communicator on board.

How to handle frozen Seafood

Frozen seafood products should be handled carefully. Pressure loaded, dropped or carelessly handled carton boxes can lead to damaging the products.Therefore the following rules should be considered.

• Products should be stored in the original carton box, in order to protect the products of damage.

• When taking out the products of the carton box they should be laid down carefully and not thrown.

• The carton boxes should not be laid head down causing damages.

Thawn seafood shouldn’t be frozen again.

If possible all products should never be taken out of the freezer with exception of the moment when the products are delivered to the customer. Afterwards they should immediately be stored in the freezer at a minimum temperature of -18 ℃ and a maximum temperature of -22 ℃.

The Ornate Spiny Rock Lobster (panulirus ornatus) is famous for it’s unique rich sweet to medium taste and is a true delicacy. It’s not only a delicacy but also an eye-catcher with the colorful body pattern and exclusive white flesh. Direct freezing after being caught ensures the freshest quality possible and the natural consistency of the firm flesh.

Lobster tails can be prepared in many delicious ways like baked, poached and grilled. They are especially well known for being great to prepare an outstanding sashimi. The great quality shows in the aromatic and fresh consistency maintained after being prepared. 

The Lobsters are wild caught in the Gulf of Papua New Guinea under very strict guidelines ensuring the sustainability. The peak season is from November to December.
