Club Information
The Pyrenean Shepherd Club of America was established in 1987 by a small group of Pyr Shep
fanciers whose goal was to protect individual Pyrenean Shepherds, and preserve the original
breed type. In 2009, the American Kennel Club fully recognized the breed and admitted
Pyrenean Shepherds to the Herding Group. The PSCA celebrated its silver National Specialty in
2013. That year the club also received its license by the AKC to hold conformation shows,
agility, obedience and rally trials, and herding events, and help its first National Specialty as a
licensed club. The club was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2014. In 2015, the
American Kennel Club accepted the Pyrenean Shepherd Club of America, Inc. to full member
status, and recognized it as the official parent club of the breed.

COVID-19
COVID-19 is so last year! Except sadly, not completely behind us just yet. We believe we will
be holding an outdoor (with indoor bits) trial which will be unencumbered by COVID-specific
safety precautions. However, we don’t know what the future holds. Facility, County and State
of Washington or club guidelines may be in place.
