JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITIONNOVICE CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the

show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present in the Novice class. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records.

MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

NOVICE AND OPEN CLASS DIVIDED: Junior-9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show; Intermediate-12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show; Senior-15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show.

NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department, (919) 233-9767. BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on front and back of entry form. NOTE: SUBSTITUTION OF DOG IN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AT THE SHOW(S): There will be an Administration Fee of $5.00 charged for any substitution of dog in Junior Showmanship at each show. HOST HOTEL – HOLIDAY INN BOZEMANRoom Rates are $99.00 per night. No pet fee!

RV Parking at Gallatin County Fairgrounds, 2 blocks from host hotel.The BSCA has an excellent history of maintaining Specialty headquarters and show site in good condition. Rings, grooming areas and hotel rooms occupied by its members are expected to be left with no appreciable damage, and as clean as possible, after the Specialty is over. As a measure of insuring that this standard will be met, the Club, as a matter of policy, sets forth the following standards of behavior.1. No dog should be left uncrated in a hotel room in the absence of the room occupants at any time.

Plastic sheeting must be placed under crates in guest rooms.2. Dogs that consitute a nuisance to the other occupants of the hotel by continual barking or howling,

may subject their owners to being removed by the hotel. Disruptive guests (or their dogs) may also be asked to leave the Hotel.

3. There will be no extensive grooming of dogs at the hotel. Dogs that are blowing coat should be taken to an off-site grooming facility (list available in the hospitality room). Tubs will be available outside for bathing. Grooming will be permitted in the indoor grooming area and designated areas the court yard and the parking lot. Exhibitors are required to keep the area clean and tidy.

4. No dogs should be washed in hotel bathtubs, and hotel towels should not be used on dogs for drying them or any other purpose. Dogs are not permitted in the restaurant, lounge or pool area of the hotel.

5. The external and internal premises of the hotel and show site shall be kept free of debris and feces caused by the presence of dogs attending the Specialty. All dogs must be on a leash at all times unless crated or in an exercise pen. You must clean up after your dogs; clean up supplies will be conveniently located for your use.

6. The BSCA urges its members to carefully inspect their rooms prior to checkout. Should a room or its contents exhibit signs of unusual wear or damage because of the presence of a dog or dogs, the occupant of that room shall recompense the hotel for all damages. Damages are the Guest’s responsibility and must be settled with the Hotel prior to departure.

All members of the BSCA are expected to adhere to these standards.Non- BSCA members attending the Specialty will be held accountable to these Standards.

DRIVING DIRECTIONSThe Holiday Inn Bozeman is located on the corner of Baxter and 7th Ave only one block south of Interstate 90. From I-90 take 7th Ave. one block south to Baxter Lane. Take a right onto Baxter and the hotel will be the first building on your left. From Gallatin Field take a left out of the Airport onto the I-90 Frontage Road. Follow the Frontage Road for 7.5 miles until it turns into 7th Ave. Take 7th Ave. over the I-90 overpass and turn right onto Baxter Lane. The hotel will be the first building on your left on Baxter.

EXHIBITOR & PARKING INFORMATIONOnly exhibitors who are registered guests of the Holiday Inn Bozeman may have vehicles parked overnight on site. The hotel staff requests that large vehicles be parked in the lot at the back of the hotel. There will be no overnight camping in vehicles parked at the hotel. Overnight camping is available two blocks away at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds 901 N Black Bozeman MT 59715 Phone: 406-582-3270. Reservations can be made by calling the fairgrounds. There will be a nominal fee for campsites which include full hookups.

BEST OF BREED COMPETITIONThe following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed Competition: dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs according to their owners’ records have completed the requirements for a Championship but whose Championships are unconfirmed. The showing of dogs whose Championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a Championship according to the owners’ records.

Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries(The winners of these Classes do not become eligible to compete for Best of Breed)

STUD DOG CLASS: For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy or the standard for its Breed. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed competition or some other non-regular class. An entry fee of $30.00 will be charged for the Stud Dog if he is NOT entered in one of the Regular Classes, Non-Regular Classes or for Best of Breed Competition. Entry fee for Stud Dog as an additional class is $20.00.BROOD BITCH CLASS: For Brood Bitches and two of their Produce. Same rules as Stud Dog.BRACE CLASS: Two Dogs of the same Breed and must have at least one common owner and presented by a maximum of two handlers. The dogs comprising a Brace MUST be named at the time of the entry. If a dog which is to be part of a Brace is not entered in another class it must be entered “For Brace Only.” In making entries for “Brace Class only” full particulars must be given for each dog on individual regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Brace MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for Additional Classes “Brace Class.” If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising EACH Brace Unit must be so designated, “Brace No. 1”, Brace No. 2, etc. PLEASE SUBMIT BRACE ENTRIES TOGETHER.NOTE: As the judge’s decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch and Brace Class is based on the merits of more than one dog/bitch, not one of the dogs/bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class.

GROOMINGLimited reserved grooming is available indoors. There will be one outlet per 8x10 space. $50 per space. Spaces will be assigned on a first come/first served basis. There is room for E-Z ups and outdoor grooming in the courtyard adjacent the rings. Electrical outlets in the courtyard are limited. There is no charge for outdoor grooming areas.

SWEEPSTAKESSweepstakes will be judged prior to the Regular Classes. All dogs and bitches entered in Sweep-stakes MUST ALSO be entered in a Regular Class at this Specialty, at the regular entry fee. The Sweepstakes is open to all dogs/bitches who are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. Entries must be made at the same time and on the same entry form as the regular classes, indicating in the space for “Additional Classes” your entry in Sweepstakes.

The Veteran Sweep-stakes is open to all dogs/bitches who are at least 7 years of age on the day of the show.

Eligible dogs are those that have earned their Working Dog Certification offered by the Belgian Sheepdog Club of America. Owners must have certification data available at the show.

The Belgian Sheepdog Club of America, Inc. Performance Committee has instituted a program of awarding a Neck Ribbon to any dog who completed an AKC title from the approved list of titles at the National Specialty. Awards will be done on the honor system. Should it be discovered that there are excessive abuses of the honor system, the program will be terminated. The program may be terminated at any time and for any reason by a majority vote of the board of the BelgianSheepdog Club of America, Inc.

VERSATILITY AWARD FORMDogs must qualify/pass in two of the five AKC performance events – obedience, rally, tracking, herding or agility- and must also participate in a regular, non-regular or sweepstakes conformation class. Dogs that are excused or disqualified from participation in any event, not including normal non-qualifying scores in performance events will be disallowed from further Versatility competition for 2015. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS – ALL EVENTSThe American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List.

• The American Kennel Club will collect: a $3.00 Event Service Fee and $.50 Recording Fee where applicable for the first entry of a dog, plus a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single-entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. At every licensed or member club rally trial, a recording fee of $3.50 is required for the first entry of each dog and a recording fee of $3.00 is required for each additional entry of the same dog. The event-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Event Service Fees for The American Kennel Club. These event service and recording fees shall be forwarded to The American Kennel Club along with all other required event results within seven (7) days of the close of the event.

• No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, e-mail and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without Agreement and Rules on reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or Baray Events assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner’s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMPLETENESS OF ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH ENTRANT.

• RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. BaRay Events will add a $30.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. We will not re-process checks. The exhibitor will be contacted & required to send a money order for the original amount PLUS the $30.00 NSF fee. Subsequent returned checks from same person may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS.

• REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed by the Club to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. Females in season are not permitted to compete in Obedience or Rally Trials. If a female is withdrawn from competition because it came into season and the Superintendent is notified no later than one half hour prior to the start of the first class in the trial, the club is required to refund the entry fee. The club may retain a processing fee and must publish this information in the premium. Clubs may determine the documentation, if any that is required to confirm the female is in season. This shall be stated in the premium. Note: No fee is paid to the AKC for females in season who are withdrawn.

• FAX ENTRIES – Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time. Fee is $4.00 per dog per show. If the credit card charge is denied for any reason, an additional service charge of $20.00 will be added. FAX NUMBER: (360) 755-2248. This is for Fax Machine ONLY. Incomplete or illegible Fax entries are not acceptable as a valid entry in a show. Proof of transmission is not proof of receipt of a legible or complete transmission (under AKC Rule Ch. 11, Sec. 4). • Entries will be acknowledged after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. Should Exhibitor NOT receive an acknowledgment within a reasonable time, PLEASE notify BaRay Events at (360) 755-7086 or email [email protected].

• Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. • Please note: Any hotel or motel listed in the premium list is subject to Event Committee Rules. We expect our exhibitors to be responsible guests. A report that an exhibitor at this show has abused hotel or motel property during this weekend may result in disciplinary action. Clubs reserve the right to decline future entries from the offending party in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 15 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows.

• Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent/Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.

• Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs.• LOSS OR DAMAGE – The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors,

but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor’s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children.

• Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.

• ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. The Club is not responsible for the actions or products of the commercial vendors at this show.
