Moderator: Joy Bhattacharya,TJKMTransportationConsultantsThesesessionswillprovidethehalfdayUSDOTProfessionalCapacityBuildingProgram’scourseonITSProcurement.AllstateandlocalagenciesthatdeployITSprojectsarechallengedtofindwaystoacquireITStechnologiesanddeploymentservicesinwaysthatmeettheir objectives, fulfill requirements emerging from those objectives, minimize adversarial relationships with providers, and reduce the riskofstalled,delayed,orunsuccessfulprojects.ManyagenciesstruggletofitITSdeploymentprojectsintoproductacquisitionmolds,while other agencies struggle to fit them into conventional construction molds. Both of these often lead to projects that do not fulfill the expectations of the agencies undertaking them.
This coursewill provide anoverviewof strategies for successfullydeploying ITSprojects thatbuildonexisting systemsengineeringprinciplesandpractices.Thecoursewillfirstlayafoundationofsystemsengineeringprinciplestoprovideacommongroundforlaterdiscussion.

ITS Parking Solutions - Parking is more than pulling into a Space
