FREE PRE-MANUFACTURING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The 2014 Pre-Manufacturing Certificate Program is funded in part by the Connecticut Manufacturing, Energy and Transportation (CT-MET) Initiative, a Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Community College

and Career Training grant, as implemented by the United States Department of Labor (USDOL) Employment & Training Administration.

The CT-MET initiative provides targeted certifications, industry-recognized credentials, and certificate training at six Connecticut

Community Colleges.

Three Rivers will offer a 300-hour summer Pre-Manufacturing Certificate Program during the summer 2014 semester. This

short-term certificate program can lead directly to entry-level employment. To remain competitive and employed,

Stats & Testimonials• 16 students registered for the summer 2013 PMC Program

• 12 students successfully completed and graduated the PMC Program

• 10 of the 12 graduates are registered and attending credit courses

“Starting a new career path by getting off on the right foot was made so much easier when I attended the PMC program at Three Rivers. Not only did I get a feel for what was needed to pursue my goals, but I also made many new friends in the process. Anything that was needed was made possible from the extremely supportive staff at TRCC. When I look back at how I started my new career, I will always remember my friends at TRCC.”- Robert Staehle, summer 2013 PMC student regarding the Pre-Manufacturing Certificate Program

“The Three Rivers Pre-Manufacturing Certificate Program had shown me a booming industry in Connecticut that I had been unaware of. The teachers and program coordinators have a huge passion for manufacturing which reflect in their lectures and in the large amount of help and advice given to students. This program is the first exciting step into pursuing a career in manufacturing and will set future students up for success as they pursue further education at Quinebaug Valley’s Machine Technology Certificate Program. ” – Ryan Sanderrs, summer 2013 PMC student regarding the Pre-Manufacturing Program

“I thoroughly enjoyed providing a tour of your PMC students last year. While speaking to them it was obvious the excitement in their voices when asking questions about our industry, and the manufacturing industry as a whole. You could see that most of them recognized the great career opportunity this program could provide them if they stayed committed to it. These types of programs are vital to filling the skilled worker void that currently exists in the US manufacturing industry.” - Mark Ypsilantis, Vice-President, Business Development & Marketing, Westminster Tool, Inc., Plainfield, CT
