Fr. Francisco’s Weekly Reflection

Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid” (Matthew 14:24). These are encouraging words for us to remember, in these difficult times. The Covid-19 situation has caused many to despair. From

perhaps loss of work, lack of family activities, or just not being able to be out and about as we normally would. We watch the news, and all we hear about is how many people are sick or

have died. I am not saying that Covid-19 is not real or that we shouldn’t be concerned. But we,

like the disciples in the boat, cannot just keep focusing on the troubled waters. We ought to keep our eyes on the gaze of Christ and take courage as the Lord has asked us to. St. Peter

was able to walk on the water with Jesus because he kept his gaze on the Lord. When Peter

lost focus on Jesus, he began to sink. I know these are challenging times, but please do not despair. Our faith in Christ, may not stop us from getting sick; as illness is a consequence of the

original sin. But, we can be comforted by his loving gaze upon us. We can offer our pain, fear, and illness to the Lord because he has redeemed our suffering. May our suffering bear much

fruit for our families and parish. Know that I pray for you all daily through the intercession of

Our Lady, and I ask for your prayers. May her maternal hand guide us with greater confidence and ever closer to the sacred heart of her son Jesus Christ! Our Lady of Guadalupe…Ora Pro-

Nobis!

Reflexion Semanal del Padre Francisco

Ánimo, soy yo; no tengas miedo "(Mateo 14:24).

¡Ora Pro-Nobis!
