She has completely recovered from the stroke relates issues and will now be seeing a stroke neurologist to find answers to the cause of her stroke and a plan to eliminate future strokes. We cannot thank you enough for the love, support, and prayers that you have lifted to the Lord for her and us. You will never know the comfort and peace that was ours knowing that we had so many people praying for her recovery. Again we appreciate every prayer and word of encouragement that you have shared for us and with us! May the favor of the Lord be yours in abundance! I believe that God is using the talent emphasis in a very special way in our church. The first and most obvious thing is that we are raising funds to build our new children’s building. I can’t wait to see how much money we will raise for this project. Second, there is a renewed excitement and unity that has surfaced as we work together for a common goal. That is beautiful to see and I am looking forward to seeing how God can use this for His glory and praise. Unity is the most precious commodity in the church and it is wonderful to see us coming together more deeply in Christ. The talent emphasis is coming to a close this month. The day of increase will be on Sunday, May 22. You can turn your “talent” in to the church at any point through that date. You can just designate on your offering envelope that the enclosed funds go to the “Talent Emphasis” and it will be posted to the “Building for the Future Fund.” Even if your talent extends beyond that day give what you have so that we can see in concrete figures how God has multiplied our talent. I am so excited about what God is doing and the funds that are being raised! The results are going to be supernatural! Many of you have expressed to me the excitement you feel at FBCLH! I sense it as well and I know through faith that God is up to something big in His church. I know that you will keep praying and working toward that end. It is a joy to be your pastor! As I write this article Sylvia and I are in Atlanta with our daughter and family as she recovers from a stroke. She has

completely recovered from the stroke relates issues and will now be seeing a stroke neurologist to find answers to the

cause of her stroke and a plan to eliminate future strokes. We cannot thank you enough for the love, support, and prayers

that you have lifted to the Lord for her and us. You will never know the comfort and peace that was ours knowing that we had so many people praying for her recovery. Again we appreciate every prayer and word of encouragement that you have

shared for us and with us! May the favor of the Lord be yours in abundance!

I believe that God is using the talent emphasis in a very special way in our church. The first and most obvious thing is that we are raising funds to build our new children’s building. I can’t wait to see how much money we will raise for this

project. Second, there is a renewed excitement and unity that has surfaced as we work together for a common goal.

That is beautiful to see and I am looking forward to seeing how God can use this for His glory and praise. Unity is the

most precious commodity in the church and it is wonderful to see us coming together more deeply in Christ.

The talent emphasis is coming to a close this month. The day of increase will be on Sunday, May 22. You can turn your

“talent” in to the church at any point through that date. You can just designate on your offering envelope that the enclosed

funds go to the “Talent Emphasis” and it will be posted to the “Building for the Future Fund.” Even if your talent extends

beyond that day give what you have so that we can see in concrete figures how God has multiplied our talent. I am so excited about what God is doing and the funds that are being raised! The results are going to be supernatural!

Many of you have expressed to me the excitement you feel at FBCLH! I sense it as well and I know through faith that

God is up to something big in His church. I know that you will keep praying and working toward that end. It is a joy to be

A Mother's Day Prayer For You

May you have al l the joy your heart can hold'

Al l the smiles a day can bring'

Al l the blessings a life can unfold'

May you have God's best in everything!

Have a Wonderful Day!

The blessing of the Lord be upon you. Psalm 129:8 KJV

Fear of Lack

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at

work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

God has accomplished amazing feats with our “Talent Drive” here at FBCLH thus far! He has far exceeded my

expectations, and He knows exactly what we need for the Building Fund. At the staff yard sale the other Saturday

I had originally expected that we would make $500, but He had other plans and we made well over $1,000.

“God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to

share with others” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT) I look forward to how God’s church here at FBCLH will share with

others and spread the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ! I pray He will surpass our expectations.

I am also excited to have our next “Gospel Celebration” on May 15th at 6 P.M. It promises to be another awesome time

singing the songs that are built upon the Solid Rock of Jesus. It will be a great time! Also on May 29th is the Memorial Day

Worship Service. We truly are blessed to live where we live and have brave men and women that are willing to protect

our freedom and way of living. We need to keep them in our prayers, as well as the families that their loved ones have paid the ultimate

price.

In His Service, Pastor Daniel

See you this week and bring a

friend.

I have been reading and

studying John 14:1-15 over

the last several weeks and this

has given me a fresh

perspective on the deity of

Jesus. I hear documentaries

and read various articles from

time to time from liberal

scholars who try to accentuate

the humanity of Jesus and

diminish the reality of His

deity. These scholars state that

Jesus never claimed to be God

in the Bible and that He was

merely a good moral man. Jesus

did live a perfect and sinless life

so I agree with them concerning

His goodness and morality.

However, our faith would be

useless if He were just a man.

The apostle John in the 14th

chapter of his gospel conveys

the deity of Jesus spoken

directly from our Lord’s mouth.

In verse 6 Jesus affirms His

deity with His “I am” statement

putting Him equal with God the

Father because the Old

Testament refers to God as “I

am.” Jesus says “I am the way,

and the truth, and the life” this

is number 5 of 7 metaphorical

“I am” statements found within

John’s gospel (6:35, 48, 51;

8:12; 9:5; 10:7, 9; 10:11, 14;

11:25; 14:6; 15:1). There are

also 5 absolute (6:20; 8:24,

28, 58; 18:5) “I am”

statements where Jesus actually

refers to Himself as “I am.”

When critics make false claims

about Jesus and our Bible, let

the word of God defend itself.

Notes from the

Stand

May is such an exciting month

for our children as they

approach the end of the

school year and SUMMER fun

begins! It is a time when the

flowers are blooming and joy

seems to fill the air. This month, our Awana

ministry is coming to a close. This time allows

our teachers and volunteers to rest and prepare

for the coming school year. I strongly urge you

to come out to support each of our children

during our Awana Awards Night on May 25th.

Food will be served and our children will be

rewarded for all their hard work this past year.

If we, as Christians, show them our support at

church, then maybe they will not search the rest

of the world for less spiritual attention.

ARRRmor of God: Last month, our children attended an overnight camp at

Camp Tree Top located near Hwy 20 and Hwy 77. The kids learned the first half

of the series titled “The Armor of God”. The children focused on Ephesians 6:11

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can stand against the devil's schemes.”

They learned about the helmet of salvation and about the shield of faith and

breastplate of righteousness. The children also enjoyed playing games, fishing,

exploring the camp, and building friendships.

VBS: Kids who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to

become divers for the week of VBS and embark on an adventure like no other,

scouring the mysterious fathoms of the deep sea. While at Submerged, kids will

discover that Jesus sees them, knows them, and came to be their Savior. He

doesn't just see what's on the outside; He sees who people are under the surface.

So be sure to mark your calendars and bring your children, grandchildren, friends,

and neighbors. When: June 26th-30th from 5 - 8 p.m. Meals will be served for

volunteers and children from 5:00 - 5:25 p.m. Nursery is available for

children of VBS Teachers/Volunteers only! (Infants-Preschool age)
