Praise for the blessings of God Almighty, may we all lead a

spiritful life and always in good health.

As a tourism village that has a unique character Ubud is

known worldwide not only as a hotspot for peace and traquility,

but also for its art and culture. Thus, Ubud is certainly starting to

prepare themselves to give birth to events that will be able to

compete in the international level. And this time of year, The 5th

annual Ubud Royal Weekend 2018 as one of the prestigious

event in Ubud will present an awakening festival by realizing,

kindling and sharing its three core spirit of Culture,

Entrepreneurship and Tourism.

Last but not the least, we cordially invite everyone to come

and enjoy the four days full of fun activities and celebrations. Also

thank everyone whose hard work and involvement as well as

assistance and participation had ensured the successfulness of

About Ubud Royal Weekend

The Ubud Royal Weekend is a weekend event

held at one of the world’s top tourist destination, Ubud,

Bali, because there is no better place than Ubud for

people to engage in history, arts and culture, religious

life, and business management simultaneously.

The weekend event that is going to be held for

the 5th time this year is hosted by Puri Agung Ubud

and is also a collaboration between the Philip Kotler

Center for ASEAN Marketing (PKCAM), together with

the Museum of Puri Lukisan and Museum of

Marketing 3.0.

About The Theme

Ubud, one of the most popular tourism destinations in

Bali, is blessed with a wonderful blend of nature and

cultures.

Nowadays, these tremendous potential needs to be

presented with some kind of entrepreneurial creativity

that will stimulate Ubud to create innovative tourism

products which will bring more added value and higher

competitiveness compared to other tourist

destinations.

The 5th Ubud Royal Weekend 2018 will be featuring educational

activities and festival activities.

The Educational Activities will aim to gathers distinguished persons

from various backgrounds and industries to share and discuss successful

and inspirational stories to inspire all of the attendees. This time we will hold

about 13 different educational sessions such as talk shows, seminars, and

workshops from different topics.

While The Festival Activities will showcase the culture and

entrepreneurship that shape Ubud Tourism in a bigger and wider scope.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

On Entrepreneurship Day of The 5th Ubud Royal Weekend 2018,

Hermawan Kartajaya, C0-Author of Marketing 3.0 and President of International

Council of Small Businesses (ICSB) Indonesia will share and talk about "Culture +

Entrepreneurship = Tourism“

Which will be continued by his associate from ICSB Thailand, Dr. Sukit

Urmahacharoen, who is not only a Brand Strategist but also One Village One

Product Expert. He will present about “New Creative OTOP of Benjarong On

The Rock”, a matrix model that he has successfully develop in Thailand

More on Entrepreneurship Day, the attendants will be inspired by successful

entrepreneurs on “Meet The Entrepreneurs” Panel Discussion such as,

Martha Tilaar, Niluh Djelantik, Gibran Rakabuming, Joger, Adjie

Watono, and other local entrepreneurs. This panel will be led by Jacky Mussry

from ICSB Indonesia.

On top of those, on Tourism Day, we will have more specific fashion

entrepreneurship workshop with Anne Avantie called “Langit Tak Selamanya Biru”

Entrepreneurship

The art of literature and art of painting is a few from many arts

that is rooted and some say, what shape the identity of Ubud.

Therefore both of these arts will be presented at Ubud Royal

Weekend to reach both its activists and its lovers.

On Culture Day, Aliansi Peduli Bahasa Bali and Penyuluh

Bahasa Bali will run a workshop about how to write, display and

keep lontar script, Lontar Script is past literature manuscript that is

handwritten on palm leaves containing various expressions of

thoughts and feelings. It usually carry a religious mission or refers to

history, fictions, art of medicine, or else. And in this workshop

session, one famous lontar script called “Pameda Smara” aboul

science of sexology will be reviewed by panel of lontar expert

together with modern sexology doctor to combine the script with the

actual practice nowadays.

For drawing and painting communities, Ubud Royal Weekend is

very honored to have Painting Workshop by Sanggar Lukis

PitaMaha on Culture day as well as Ubud Mural Association.

LITERATURE & DRAWING

This time around Ubud Royal Weekend would like to

embrace Ubud’s art of photography through four event

programs; talkshow, workshop, exhibition, and competition.

On Culture Day, attendants are going to be enlighten

by Mario Blanco who will talk about Culture

Photography. While more on Tourism Day, a workshop

about Commercial Photography for Social Media will be

led by Dewandra Djelantik. These will hopefully bring

great opportunity for photography enthusiasts to learn

from the experts.

Ubud SocMed Photography Competition will also

take place during this time of week to train new talents in

utilizing photography to create positive content in social

media.

And finally as a sweetener, for four days, visitors will

be pampered with works of photographer reliable through

Ubud Photo Festival.

PHOTOGRAPHY

This time Ubud Royal Weekend will also have special attention for

barista communities and coffee lovers in Ubud. Collaborating with

Tukang Kopi Nakal Community and Toffin. Two special events will be

held not only to introduce coffee products, but also to add knowledge

and experience for baristsa and coffee lovers in Ubud

Cupping Seasion & Coffee Talk will take place on Ubud Day

where baristas and coffee lovers will gather and talk about coffee and

then will learn how to do cupping together from coffee experts such as,

Windu Segara and Nyoman Sukarsana.

While Latte Art Battle Competition will take place the

following day, in attempt to help sharpen their skills and creativity.

COFFEE

Flair bartending is the practice of bartenders

entertaining guests, clientele or audiences with the

manipulation of bar tools (e.g. cocktail shakers) and liquor

bottles in tricky, dazzling ways. Used occasionally in

cocktail bars, the action requires skills commonly

associated with jugglers.

This time around Ubud Royal Weekend is honored

to have one of bartending association to jump on board in

one Flairtending Show on Opening Night Show.

FLAIRTENDING

For three consecutive

years Ubud Royal

Weekend held Ubud UKM

Bazaar as one of its special

event to provide a space for

small and medium

enterprises all around Ubud

to promote their products

and business.

This year the

program will be held for 4

days in a row, featuring 34

booths that move in the

creative field to food and

beverage. This Bazaar will

be enlivened by various

events and performances.

Some those events

include Kids Coloring

Competition, DressUp for

Ceremony Competition ,

also Ubud’s Jegeg Bagus

Competition which will be

followed by participants

from Ubud District.

UKM BAZAAR

Ubud will host an international event related to

fashion at the end of 2018 titled Ubud Fashion Week

2018. This international event will be held at the end of

2018.

Therefore, as pre event, Ubud Fashion Week will

present fashion show as one of the main performance

on Saturday Night Show of Ubud Royal Weekend.

The fashion show will features talented designers

to give everyone a sneak peak about what to come in

the next Ubud Fashion Week 2018

FASHION

For most Ubud people, traditional dance is closely related to the

religious life of the predominantly Hindu community. Balinese Dance is

not only performed during religious ceremonies, but also in everyday

life for entertainment. To promote and preserve this dancing culture,

Ubud Royal Weekend always features special dance programs into its

agenda.

Like the previous year, Ubud Royal Performers will perform in

several programs such as; Opening Ceremony and Saturday Night

Show.

Moreover, there will be two other special appearance to enlight

the visitor this year. Ubud Culture Parade will bring out the tradition of

Ngelawang to enliven the UKM Bazaar crowds. Ngelawang is a ritual

performed by a group of children by parading barong around the village

and accompanied by gamelan to celebrate the Dharma victory over

Adharma.

While on other occasion some Ubud’s dancing communities

joined together and identify themself as Napak Tuju will perform for

one hour on the Closing Night Show.

MUSIC

To embrace the harmony that surrounds Ubud,

Ubud Royal Weekend has been gathering series of

sensational local musical performers to entertain the

crowd during this four days of event.

Putu Karna Acoustics will perform on the very

first night of Ubud Royal Weekend, Friday Night

Show. And a band will entertain visitor on Jazzy Night

On Saturday Night Show, Gus Teja will sway

us with his musical works that have been created not

only represent an expression of his feeling from the

deepest part of his heart, but also reflects peace,

serenity, and a strong bond of brotherhood regardless

of cultural background or a different race.

And last but not leas, Dialog Dini Hari is a

caffein blues / folk frio who will will spoil everyone’s

ear through a beautiful light-witty messaging melody in

vibrant baritone vocal.
