• What is Green Computing?• Also known as green technology, is the environmentally liable use

of computers and other similar resources.

• Why is it important?• Computers, printers, and any other accessories are a great source

of draining power, which is bad for the environment overall (University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, 2015).

What’s Really Great• Less Energy Usage

• Less energy usage means less pollution for the planet which creates a better environment ☺

• More Research• The more we understand green computing,

the more efficient we can make for future techniques.

• Less Money

• Overall in the long run, you will save money which really helps for anyone and everyone

What’s Not so Great• Conversion expenses

• Buying the right materials to be able to be “green” can be costly and in the short run, it may cost more to actually convert it compared to what you are getting from it

• Less Power

• It may not run as fast due to lack of power it consumes compared to a large power source

• Technology is Constantly Changing

• It may be useless if something new comes out

Cloud Computing

• The using of a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer.

• Translate cloud computing to not only will the shift to cloud computing prevent the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, it will also save up to 2.2 billion dollars for participating companies.

• Why?• Computers use a large amount of energy and resources from the computer such as batteries cause pollution. The

waste from the technology industry is reaching epic proportions.
