21000 Westover Ave. Unlocked Kitchen Window

R/P (victim#1) and her female friend (victim#2) had left their purses on the kitchen table prior to falling asleep at 10:00pm. At 12:30am R/P’s dog started barking. R/P got up looked around but didn’t see anything unusual. The following morning victims discovered their purses missing from the kitchen table. Victim#1 also reported her backpack was taken from the kitchen table. The kitchen window was found ajar. No forced entry noted. 20000 Knob Woods Dr. (Residential- Apartments)

No obvious damage to the door.

Victim states she came home and found her apartment ransacked. Several items are missing including Flat Screen TV, HP Laptop, and several items of jewelry including a watch.

21000 Westover Ave. Entry was made by prying the side door open. Frame was bent.

Victim states sometime between 5:00pm- 9:00pm someone forced entry into her residence via the side door. Nothing appears to be missing or disturbed inside the residence. Victim states she just recently had another Home Invasion where her Pit Bull was taken. Victim has another Pit Bull now and it was chained up to a tree in the back yard during this incident.

R/P is an owner at Dealership in Atlanta, Ga. R/P tracked the vehicle down via a "Car Fax" update and called our department to see if we could locate the vehicle. Officer located vehicle at Auto Repair facility in the 26000 Block of 8 Mile Rd. and confirmed the vin on vehicle and advised the owner and employees at Auto Repair Facility that the vehicle is wanted, stolen out of Georgia. Auto Repair Facility had just finished a repair and was waiting to get paid. Auto Repair released the vehicle but did so with keys and an Invoice for the repairs enclosed. There was no plate on the vehicle however an Ontario License Plate that comes back stolen was in the trunk.

Victim states she and her husband are from out of town. They went to a concert in Detroit last night. They got to the Hotel in Southfield at or around 1:30am last night and they parked their vehicle in the parking structure adjacent to the hotel. The following day at 4:30pm victim’s husband went to get their vehicle and it was gone. The vehicle had already been recovered by another jurisdiction. Victim states keys were stolen out of her vehicle sometime between Tuesday January 24, 2017 @9:45pm & Wednesday January 25, 2017 @ 7:00pm. Entry was gained through an unlocked door. No suspect information.

Victim states sometime between 12:01am- 8:50am someone entered victim’s vehicle through an unlocked door and took several items from the vehicle.

15000 Town Ctr. (Hotel)

All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2017 Chevy Cruze.

Victim states vehicle is a Rental. He parked the vehicle in front of the Hotel on the N/W end of the parking lot facing Northwestern Highway at 9:00pm. When he came back out to the vehicle the following morning at 8:10am he discovered that All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from vehicle.

19000 W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial Business)

100’ Long Cable Sewer Snake With Cart was taken from victims Work Van. The lock on the back doors was broken off.

Victim parked his work van in the rear lot of business in the 19000 Block of Eight Mile Rd. @10:00am. (Corner of 8 Mile & Mapleridge Ave.) Victim returned to the vehicle around 11:30am and discovered the rear doors of the van were swinging open and the door lock had been busted out. A sewer snake was stolen from inside the work van. A witness states he saw a Gray Ford Crown Victoria drive near his van. The driver got out and was walking around the van, grabbed something out of the van, got back in the Crown Vic and then drove off. No further information.

23000 Northwestern (Church)

Purse with contents was taken from victims Honda Fit.

Officers were dispatched to location on report of three B/F’s just broke into a vehicle and were fleeing on foot S/B on Northwestern Hwy. Southfield Officers located the three suspects at the Gas Station 9 mile and Southfield Rd. The victim had a ping on the missing cell phone and located it in the driveway in the 23000 Block of Mapleridge adjacent to the parking lot. All missing property was recovered and a Southfield Police Evidence Technician took photos of the recovered property. A Southfield Police K-9 Officer and his K-9 started a track and recovered a set of keys for victim’s vehicle. The track also went to the Gas Station where the suspects were located. Officers interviewed the clerk at the Gas Station. The clerk stated the three subjects tried to use victims Silver Citibank Master Card and denied them service. All Three suspects were arrested for LFA & Credit Card Fraud.

Tips:

Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight.

Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly

Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked

26000 Telegraph Rd. (Convenience Store)

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from cash drawer and a citizen’s cell phone was also taken.

Officers responded to the Convenience Store/ Gas Station located in the 26000 Block of Telegraph Rd. on a 911 call of an Armed Robbery just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and determined 2- B/M suspects had just robbed the store clerk and a customer at gun point before fleeing on foot west from the store location. K-9 Officer and his K-9 tracked to area of Swanson & Franklin and lost the scent at that location. It was reported that the 2- B/M suspects had entered the store with their faces partially covered with scarfs/masks. Both suspects were armed with handguns and pointed the gun at the clerk and other customers in the store. The suspects reportedly made verbal demands for money from the store clerk and also pointed a gun at a customer near the counter and demanded her cell phone she was holding. Suspect#1 Last Name

Be on the Look Out Highlights: Arrests by SPD Officers: LFA’s This Past Week:

1) 26000 Block of American Dr.

(Hotel) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from Ford Fusion. Video surveillance from Hotel indicates that incident occurred at about 3:58am. The suspect vehicle seen on surveillance video was a White 4 Door Ford Fusion, occupied by 2 B/M's.

2) 28000 Block of Franklin Rd. (Hotel) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2017 Ford Fusion sometime overnight between 7:30pm- 9:05am. Possibly same suspects that took All Four Wheels & Tires from Ford Fusion at Hotel in the 26000 Block of American Dr. Suspects were 2- B/M’s in a White 4- Door Ford Fusion.

3) 15000 Block of Town Ctr.

(Hotel) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2017 Chevy Cruze. Vehicle was parked in the N/W end of the parking lot facing Northwestern Highway. Occurred sometime over the night between 9:00pm – 8:10am.

Possession of Synthetic Narcotic/ Obstruct Police- 1- Arrest 01/24/2017 6:42pm

Greenfield Rd & Northland Dr. Officer was on routine patrol when he observed vehicle travelling S/B on Greenfield Rd. There was no plate on the vehicle, the Temp Tag on the rear of the vehicle was unreadable and the vehicles front windshield was cracked. Officer stopped the vehicle. There was a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and a Southfield Police K-9 Unit responded to scene. K-9 conducted a sweep of the vehicle. K-9 alerted to several areas of the vehicle where there was some suspected marijuana residue located. Further investigation revealed that the passenger in the vehicle gave an alias name. Additional Officers arrived on scene with a fingerprint scanner. After scanning passengers fingerprint he then told Officers his real name. Passenger was a Parole Absconder. Passenger was arrested for Obstruct Police Officer. After transporting suspect to the jail, personnel from the jail recovered several pills in a zip loc baggie concealed in the tip of suspect’s shoe. The pills were identified as oxycodone. The suspect was also charged with Possession of Synthetic Drug.

4) 19000 Block of W Eight Mile Rd. (Corner of 8 Mile & Mapleridge)

(Commercial Business)

Witness states he saw a Gray Ford Crown Victoria drive near victims van. The driver got out and was walking around the van. He grabbed something out of the van, got back in the Crown Vic and then drove off. Occurred between 10:00am- 11:30am.

5) 23000 Block of Northwestern

(Church Parking Lot) Victim reported 3- B/F suspects were going through his wife’s car. They fled on foot with victim’s purse. Officers located all three suspects at the Gas Station. (9 mile & Southfield Rd.) They were attempting to use one of victim’s credit cards. All Three suspects were arrested and all of victim’s items were recovered.

6) 27000 Block of Sutherland

A set of keys were taken from vehicle. Occurred sometime over the last two days.

7) 27000 Block of Pierce St. Cash was taken from victims 2012 Kia Sorrento. Occurred sometime between 9:00pm- 6:00am.

OWI 2nd Offense- 1- Arrest Northwestern & Lahser Rd. 01/22/2017 2:12am Officers were dispatched to location on a person slumped in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Officer’s arrived and attempted to wake up the operator of the vehicle. Once the driver was awakened Officers were able to place the vehicle in park and turn off the ignition. An OWI investigation was completed and the driver was arrested for OWI II.

A&B/ R&O- 1- Arrest 01/25/2017 4:06pm 16000 Block of North Park Dr.

(Residential- Apartments) Southfield Officers were dispatched to a family trouble at a private residence located in the 16000 Block of North Park Dr. Investigation revealed that victim’s son assaulted him to wit struck his father 3 to 4 times to the left side of his head with open and closed hand. Victim’s son (suspect) was located by K-9 Officer Raby walking near victims Apartment Complex. The suspect was advised that he was under arrest for Domestic A&B. Suspect said F- That I’m not going to jail and attempted to flee on foot. Officers caught up with the suspect, he resisted arrest and he was taken into custody.

Special Attention: Aggravated Felony Assault 01/25/2017 6:23pm

18000 Block of Hilton Dr. Victim states he was at his residence in the 18000 Block of Hilton when he heard someone knocking at his front door. Victim opened the door but not the storm/screen door. There was 2- B/M on his porch. There was also 3- B/F out front in a Gray Ford F-150 Pick Up Truck. An argument broke out between victim and one of the females in the truck about victim’s girlfriend possibly having an affair with her boyfriend. As the two were yelling back and forth at each other one of the males on the porch punched him through the screen door and attempted to pull him out through the door. Both males then started hitting victim. At some point victim states one of the males attempted to stab him with a knife. The males and females then all left in the Gray Ford F-150 Pick Up Truck. Victim wasn’t hurt seriously but had several bumps, scratches and lacerations on his body. Victims Girlfriend wasn’t present but lives with victim. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never open the door to their homes to strangers. PWID Marijuana- 1-Arrest 01/26/2017 10:44am 21000 Block of Evergreen Rd.

(School) Security at the school investigated three subjects after observing them coming out of the bathroom and reeking of marijuana. One of the subjects made admissions to Security that he was the one that reeked of marijuana and that he had marijuana in his Backpack. Security searched the students Backpack and recovered several individually wrapped baggies of marijuana. The items were located in the large zip up pocket of the backpack belonging to the student. Southfield Police School Liaison Officer responded to scene and conducted follow up investigation. The suspected marijuana was Field Tested by a Southfield Police Evidence Technician. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana. The student was arrested for PWID Marijuana.

(Vacant School) Graffiti on the north side (rear) of the school was spray painted in silver/aluminum paint. " Pro$per Hue".

Aggravated/ Felonious/ Domestic Assault- 1- Arrest 01/28/2017 5:27am 20000 Block of Sherman Ave

(Applewood Apartments) Several Officers responded to location on report of a disturbance, possibly a fight going on in apartment. Officers arrived on scene and met with female that was standing outside the apartment in question. Subject was a victim of an assault and was bleeding from her right ear. Information was developed that several subjects including victim had just returned from a birthday party. One of the subjects (suspect) became upset when victim#1 who was in the apartment was slow to let them into their apartment. The two were verbally arguing and then suspect assaulted him and they both started fighting. Victim#2 who Officers were talking to tried to break up the fight and suspect assaulted her as well and at some point retrieved a knife and threatened her with it. Additional Officers arrived on scene. After interviewing everyone P.C. was developed that suspect assaulted two subjects, one with a knife. She was taken into custody for Felonious Assault.
