2015 Syrah COLUMBIA VALLEY TASTING NOTES Layered aromatics of blackberry, blueberry, and currant mingle with a touch of complex spices and herbs on the nose. The wine explodes on the palate with rich layered flavors of lush blackberry, Bing cherry and a touch of pomegranate followed by notes of licorice, dark cocoa, forest floor and a touch of mint. This Syrah has an incredibly savory sensation with firm structure and acidity that leads into a finish of fine integrated silky tannins. BLEND/VINEYARD INFO 97% Syrah and 3% Mourvedre 88% Cougar Vineyard Syrah, Wahluke Slope 9% Badger Mountain Estate Vineyard Syrah, Columbia Valley 3% Goose Ridge Vineyard Mourvedre, Columbia Valley WINEMAKER’S NOTES The components that make up the 2015 vintage of Syrah were harvested from early September to early October, which gave us a great range of brix and acid with which to work. All components were fermented in our stainless upright fermenters with PDM yeast used on all lots. We then aged the wine for 18 months in 2 nd and 3 rd use 59 gallon French Oak barrels.
