• How do I insert a document from word into PPT?

– Open a new PPT file– On the home tab click on ‘new slide’ in the slides group– Select ‘slides from outline’– Choose the Word file and click insert

• How do I format the Word document so it’s easily imported into PPT?– The title of your ppt slide should be the first sentence in Word

and it should also be centered– The style for the title of each slide in PPT should be ‘heading

1’ in Word– The style for the bullets of each slide in PPT should be

‘heading 2’ in Word

Manipulating Tables

• How do I insert a table?– Create a new slide layout with title and content– Click on the first icon ‘insert chart’ in the 6

selection series of options that are in the center of the slide

– Specify the number of rows and columns– Table will appear and you can enter data and

modify the appearance of the table using the in context tab ‘table tools’

Shapes

• How do I insert and manipulate shapes in PPT?– Insert a blank slide (create a blank slide by selecting

the components in the current slide layout – ctrl a; then hit delete; the slide will be blank)

– Go to the home tab drawing group shapes– Select the shape you’d like to use; click and drag the

shape into your slide;– If you hold the shift key down while drawing a line,

square or circle those shapes will appear as a straight line, perfect square or perfect circle

Clip Art

• How do I manipulate a clip art image?– Insert your clip art image (insert tab images group click

on clip art)– Right click on your image a dialog box message will

appear and ask if you want to convert the image-select yes-now the image is editable

– Right click on the image select group select ungroup– Click in the white space to deselect all the component parts– Right click on a specific part of your image that you would

like to change; go to ‘format shape’ to see the options available for you to alter that part of the image
