How does it work?

Ice Pigging


Gel Pigs • Used to clean Unpiggable Pipelines, During Commissioning and for On Going

Maintenance

• Pigs are normally Water or Glycol Based and Biodegradable

• Solid Gel Pigs are used for Routine Pigging and Product Removal

• Viscous Gel Pigs are used for Debris Pick Up, Deoiling, Dewaxing, Descaling, Dewatering – The Viscosity can be Adjusted to Suit the Application

• Many Solvents and Acids can be Gelled

• Gelled Diesel is commonly used as a Carrier of Corrosion Inhibitor in Gas Lines.

• No Requirement for a Launcher or Receiver


• Gel Pigs can be used Alone or in Conjunction with Other Types of Pipe Pigs to Provide the following Benefits:

• Reduced wear of pigs • Decreased fluid bypass • Increased drive efficiency • Improved capacity to carry solids

• Typhoon has a Unique Patented Valve Design which enables the Cleaning Head to be Remotely Switched between Thrust and Cleaning Modes Multiple Times

• Diameter range: 200mm to 2000mm

• Typhoon range: 1.2 kilometre from a single access point working upstream and downstream

• Cleaning Speed: 0.1 to 0.5 metres per second

• Pipeline Bends: Designed to traverse pipe bends as severe as 1.5D - 90°

• Capable of Cleaning Complex Sections of Pipe containing Vertical and Horizontal Bends

• Bore Changes: Can pass through changes in bore diameter of 10% to 20%

• Valves: Can clean up to valve faces using forward facing jets
