• Worked on the UNICEF Innovations Team for 5 years doing

projects in Uganda, Malawi, Turkey, Zambia, etc

• Was a software developer for 10 years prior to that, focusing

mostly on the web.

Rosa Maria Martinez

• Human Geographer of the University of California, Berkeley,

USA.

• Crime and Violence in urban spaces focusing on geo-reference

hot spots of crime.

• Previous experience working with Crime Observatories in

Colombia doing analysis of armed conflict dynamics.

Rapid expansion of mobile phone penetration - Nigeria has a mobile penetration rate of 56.6% and it is projected to grow to 79% by 2015.

Voice of Kibera

• Voice of Kibera is a citizen reporting project based in Kibera, Nairobi. The project is an initiative of Map Kibera and uses the Ushahidi platform to aggregate and map reports. Voice of Kibera aims to give collective global voice to Kibera residents by aggregating local citizen reports, Kibera community media and other relevant news and information.

Built on Open Street Maps and Usahidi and is free and open source

1. The opportunity will be advertised internationally at http://www.devbusiness.com/

2. A Request for Expression of Interest (EOI) will be issued in the next few months. This will include:

•short description of the project

•cost estimate and the budget

•short-listing criteria

•positions requested to be filled

•instructions on where to submit (via e-consult as well as an e-mail address)
