THE BLUE CREW!!!!!!!!!!! 28
A Message From the Coach:
Yesterday (July 26) we finished our last day of Team Camp for the month. We have had
team camps with Bryant, Lakeside, Central, Hall, McClellan, and at OBU versus Camden
Fairview, Shiloh, LR Catholic and others. We have faced good competition that has made
us a better team. Thursday (27th) will be our last July workout, which about all we will do is
watch film from our last team camp, hand out equipment and talk of goals and expectations
for the upcoming season.
It is interesting that as I write this, the turf is being unloaded in the parking lot outside the
stadium. I REALLY think the artificial surface will happen!!! It has been quite interesting to
watch the progression of dirt, sand, big rocks, little rocks, and now the actual turf! It will be
something our entire community can take pride in. I can‟t wait to see the finished product.
As we approach August 1st and the “official” start of fall camp, our enthusiasm and
expectations could not be higher. With the returning starters we have, we are much farther
along than we ever were last year. Our biggest asset will be our returning experience. Our
biggest liability will be our depth. We CANNOT lose any one player because chances are it
will be a person that will be playing both ways, thus in effect, we lose two players.
Our players have worked very hard this July, doing more than they ever have with team
camps, 7 on 7, as well as the regular four day a week workouts that we have done. I do not
know much more we could do to be prepared for a season. And all this, in the middle of a
record hot summer. They have paid a price already, before we even get to August.
Hopefully we will have a huge crowd for our home opener versus Harrison on September
2nd at 7:00. (In case you lost count that is only 37 days away!!) With 22 Seniors that have
character and great pride in being a Yellowjacket, our sights are set on nothing less than our
first playoff win in a very long time. We aim high, shoot straight, and play hard! Hang on,
the ride is about to begin!

THE BLUE CREW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Blue Crew consists of student supporters of the Yellowjackets. Members of The Blue Crew stand at or near the
south 30 yard line at football games and courtside during
basketball games. The „Crew‟ begins cheering during warm-ups and many paint their clothing blue and gold to represent their team. Over the years, The Blue Crew has earned a reputation as one of the rowdiest, wittiest, and best-organized fans in the state. Led by the Blue Crew, the atmosphere in and around Yellowjacket Stadium is filled with excitement and unmatched spirit. They are copied, but never matched.
