The Etim field is located offshore Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria in the OML 67 area of the Bight of Biafra. It is south of Company's, Qua Iboe Terminal (QIT) shore base. Water depths range from 100 - 120 ft MLW.Etim D is a wellhead platform installed by MPN in its OML 67. It is planned that production from Etim D wells will be transported through a 14” Full Well Stream pipeline to the Etim Production Platform (Etim PP) for primary separation. The Etim D production stream will thus co-mingle with other production streams (Etim A and B) at Etim PP upstream of the production separator.
The project objective is to:Develop "Issue for Design" (IFD) quality drawings, calculations, analyses, studies, and reports for the topsides piping, deck extension to accommodate 14” receiver, and riser location at Etim PP for the 14" Etim D to Etim PP full well stream pipeline.Consider the FEED for some other projects (EAPM LP FEED) previously completed that affect Etim PP and develop the design to be compatible with the planned
modifications.

Edop 12 is a minimum facility, single well, wellhead platform that is supported from the single well conductor. This well produces over 4000 Barrels of crude oil per day, flowing through Edop C which is located in the Gulf of Guinea, Nigeria. The facility has a hexagonal shaped boat landing deck supported from the single conductor at an elevation of 5ft above Mean Low Sea Level. The platform is also equipped with a 2 Long Ton lifting device and structure to transfer material from boats to the platform, and vise versa. However, the boat landing is fully submerged at the time of the year when the tide is high, thus preventing personnel access to the platform from a boat. Also the 2 Long Ton lifting device, of the well head platform appears marginal and as such not fit for purpose. Point Engineering Limited performed the detailed engineering design for the provision of additional, round the year, functional boat landings at respective levels and the modification of the lifting device to address its inefficiency

In 2001, during the cleaning of 14” Okordia-Rumuekpe trunk line to enable intelligent pigging for integrity data acquisition, it was observed that the cleaning pig was stuck in the trunk line at Sambreiro river crossing as a result of obstruction in the trunk line. Similarly, a dent was revealed during the phase IV internal inspection program for pipelines in 2002 by a caliper survey of the 10” Diebu creek delivery line, approximately 6.97km away from a launcher manifold at Diebu creek flowstation. The dent lies within the river crossing section of the pipeline at Ekowe/Nange-ama. In view of this, planned replacement of these pipeline sections in line with SPDC’s standard is required.
The objective of the Design is to produce necessary engineering drawings to enable effective replacement of the dented or obstructed section of the delivery line and trunk line on the Ekowe/Nange-ama and Sambreiro River crossing sections respectively. These replacements will ensure steady flow of crude oil through these pipelines and allow intelligent pigging for data acquisition in line with DPR’s requirements

On the backdrop of the turbine blow-out that happened on Oso gas compression platform (RG), MPNU decided to carry out an EIT study on Edop’s Injection Gas Compressors (IGC A/B), to determine the modifications that would be required to forestall such an occurrence on QI.From the EIT recommendations, the following modifications are required:•Segregation of IGC A/B starter gas exhaust lines from existing LP vent header, and routing them to a safe location. •Installation of flame arrestors on new IGC A/B exhaust vent lines.•Installation of shutdown valves (SDV’s) upstream of IGC A/B starter gas control valves to provide automatic cut-off of starter gas supply to the system in the event of starter speed inhibition system failure.•Installation of device such as lube oil flow indicator or a means of confirming lube oil flow after start-up and at any other time. The device is to be installed such that it can be read from outside IGC A/B housing.•Connection of IGC A/B starter pickup speed signal into control room DCS
Point Engineering Ltd performed the detailed engineering design to address these concerns raised by the EIT.

Due to the reduction in MPN QIT’s daily crude production as a result of the reduced OPEC quota, QIT no longer produces enough fuel gas to supply all fuel gas users at the QIT. This has resulted in use of alternative fueling (diesel) of the QIT generators. Field Operations Technical Engineering (FOTE) carried out a conceptual study to evaluate different options with a view of identifying the most economical, effective and efficient way of increasing the fuel gas availability at QIT while still keeping the OPEC oil production quota and thereby reducing or eliminating the diesel usage at QIT. To achieve this, FOTE has identified an option involving a means of increasing the overall QIT GOR while the 1st stage separator pressure of 30 Psig is being maintained by injecting up to 15 MMscfd of gas into the following Main Oil Lines (MOL):16” Ekpe-Asabo oil pipeline24” Ubit-QIT oil pipelineMPN has carried out pipeline hydraulic analysis for these oil lines (with the injected gas) and predicted that the potential of slug flow in the incoming pipeline is not likely. Therefore, PEL’s scope on this project is limited to the detailed design for the piping modifications required on Ubit and Ekpe platforms to enable connection of gas stream from a reasonable source to an appropriate point on the MOL location

A recent EIU SHE risk assessment conducted by MPNU on Inim PP identified the present Instrument Gas system as a potential risk – fire hazard. Pneumatic systems continuously bleed off gas that power or pressurize them as part of the pneumatic system operations. Inim PP is a manned production platform and has electric powered equipment that are likely sources of ignition of any gathered gas cloud. For this reason and others highlighted in the EIU SHE risk assessment report, Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited embarked on the conversion of the Instrument Gas System to Instrument Air System.
PEL carried out this study that considers a number of options for the installation of the proposed Instrument Air System, estimate the instrument air demand, develop equipment specifications, identify required structural modifications and tie-in to existing instrument air header, and develop cost estimates for renting as against outright purchase of compressor units for a period of five years

The Obigbo North field has an existing Water Injection Plant (WIP) with an installed capacity of 15Mbwpd for pressure maintenance. The WIP uses source water from 2 water wells. The Field Development Plan (FDP) of 1997 identified an additional requirement of 20Mbwpd. It also identified Produced Water Re-Injection (PWRI) as an economic alternative to the existing source water injection and produced water disposal. The PWRI will increase oil production in Obigbo North, replace its produced water disposal at Bonny Terminal with a more environmentally friendly alternative and create more ullage in the pipeline trunklines. It will also alleviate the produced water processing capacity of Bonny Terminal in the long term. The FDP recommended this pilot scheme to quantify and thus reduce the risks that may be associated with a full-scale implementation of PWRI.
The design scope for the project is to carry out detail design engineering and preparation of Approved-for-Construction drawings, construction workscope and materials take-off for Separators and Skimmer hook-up to existing facilities.
