Capabilities

Dual speed for drilling into brickwork or masonry

Variable speed for specific work Reverse action for the withdrawal of screws Percussion or hammer action Torque control to avoid over tightening of

screws

Power drills Torque control Torque controls are normally found on drills with a

screw-driving function, torque control shuts off the drill when a certain turning force is reached. The size of screw together with the material accepting the screw will influence the torque required for a particular job. Normally the adjustment is by a numbered dial - often up to 16 positions. This all helps ensure that screws are not driven in too far; or over tightened.

Choosing the right drill and bits for the job Depends on the following;

The type of material that needs to be drilled

Size of holes required or task to be completed

How often the drill will be used.

Power saws A handheld, power circular saw is one of the

most useful tools that a person can own. It is used for making straight cuts in timber or

manmade board, and is much easier than using a handsaw which will give a better edge if the correct type of guide is used.

Power saws As well as just cutting timber to size, it can be

used for: cutting rebates cutting mitres or chamfers at any angle up to

45 degrees cutting wood away to start off a slot cutting through tongued-and- grooved

Safety in use. Wear appropriate PPE Any timber cut should be safely fixed in position Ensure power cable is away from the cutting action Keep saw blades sharp Disconnect machines before making adjustments If the saw is jamming whilst cutting sheet materials

put a wedge in between the cut to allow the saw to cut easier.

Always keep saws cleaned and well maintained
